Flew the tricopter today, made gyro gain ajustments, flies wonderfully now.

Made another flight FPV at the funfly this morning, was good. Weather was mostly good for the weekend, but we had a big shower this afternoon. Never seen a funfly end so abruptly !!! Sun came back an hour later, that's when I flew the tri. Now it tracks like on rails !
Glad to hear your TRI is working well for you, is some multicopter FPV in your near future? I think you will do well with it.

Near futur ? you bet ! I like flying it LOS, but it real hard to keep orientation. I'll change prop color on the front, but this thing is begging for FPV gear. I want it real simple: 200 mw VTx and cam from the stryker and goggles, VRx and battery on the ground. Thats all. No need for recording as I don't plan to go far, will just use keychain for HD.

Had the tri tried by some members that knew helis and they all liked it. Lots of interest from fliers at the funfly, it will be contagious I think.

Will make a vid from my FPV and tri flights at the funfly, but don't know when. Loots of films to go through.

I was not happy with the camera mount I made, so I started over and made a different one. It's based on power's DSLR camera mount.

I like it better. It's smaller and lighter than my first attempt.

The FC is an ArduWiino. It is the first Wii controller I made. It's hard wired and has the nunchuk accelerometer. It's the only FC I have that has a working auto-level.

I tried out 4 different 900MHz video Tx antennae.
I set up my ground stationin another room , then started swapping them out.

In order of best video quality:
1. The stock antenna
2. The DPCAV dipole
3. IBCrazy inverted V
4. Mr RCCAM modified stock

So the stock antenna is going on the quad.

Looking good Art !

Morris, I plan to use the stock whip on my tri since it will be flown close. Maybe the inverted V and dipole would be better in different congiguration or they are not tuned very well ? Some guys I saw this summer bought a tester and found most antennas we buy are out of tune by some amount.
