You could put a can of paint on the antenna and fly 3D, then the paint would be mixed

Edit: On Chuck's video, this is the first time we can see your field with that perspective (pit stand and eyes level). Very nice view indeed. I'd like to fly there.

Crummy weather here today. Friday and Saturday I will be helping man our Fern Priaire Modeler's booth at Camas Days. Sunday we will be giving introductory flights to the civilians recruited at the event. So, no flying the next 4 days. I need the time off from flying.

That's why I changed for a LRS. But if you stay in the range of the radio, you won't have problems. If it is a spektrum radio and you have a satellite, place it on the wing spreaded as far away from the main receiver. I had the best results with an AR7000 receiver.
thanks, carguy....i have a AR7000 in another plane ...will switch radios...it is now in (on) a slow stick....i think the FPV plane will go a lot farther and faster than the slow stick and will need the AR7000.

Great active club, It is nice to have membrs that want to do more than "use" the services. I am secratary at our club, and it is harder than ever to have participating members. Now people are used to "I pay, I fly, you work". Looks like it is always the same who do the work. We are 35 members. We had only one promotional activity outside the club in the last 3 years: an "RC special day" organized by a nearby town. Was fun, it was on an island in the middle of the town.

Stopped by garage sale and found a 5.8G transmitter and receiver intended for add a TV to your home without needing to run wires... says it's good to 300 feet. I'm thinking wireless from my transmitter to my tripod? Maybe?

Sure, I've seen it done. No wires so when you move away from the GS you don't drag it with you till everything is on the ground, plane included

I'm thinking tent posts to prevent this from hapenning to my tripod.

Can't see why ? If it goes down, I loose video. If I am drunk enough to colapse on it, I shouldn't be flying in the first place.

Anyway the main purpose to lock it on ground is to prevent wind to push it on the ground. Happened once in flight, was not happy.

EDIT: Oh I get it, you mean if I hit it with the plane. Well, I really want a skywalker...The GS can take it I guess.

The mountain is 80 miles away. To get there, I hear you have to do something with your tires. Something about chains. Whatever they are.

EasyCaps will record static

EasyCaps are a video to USB converter that you use with your laptop. The software that comes with them records through static (but warns you once, if it is just static when you start recording).

About $8 shipped on eBay. Make sure you get one that matches your laptop, 64 bit, Win 7, and Mac in particular.

Records and displays at the same time. Best to tell it to use the mpeg2 codec at 5000-6000 data rate. Large files, but high quality and smooth simultaneous display while recording due to lower CPU usage.

You will need at least a couple gig free for this to work well. A full hard drive will probably need defragging too because of the high data rate.

Here is the landing I left out from the video of 2 flights ago - I am trying to get so I can land closer to where I am standing (when possible) to lessen the amount I have to walk to get the plane. I think this one is about as close to my truck as I want to get - the only thing less work than this landing would be a hand catch

Anyone here used the Turnigy nano-tech or Gens Ace batteries? I am going to get some more batteries, and am wondering if these are worth the extra $$

landing (0 min 36 sec)
