Outstanding! My favorite type of vid too. Your best yet IMO! I liked the brief shot with the 2 deer as well.

Great landing too!

Cheers

Also deshaked this with virtual dub, although the raw footage was pretty steady on its own. This big bird sure shines in dead calm conditions, a slight breeze makes it hard to hold steady and I fight the plane a lot more. A coworker who is a pilot suggested maybe small amounts of weight out on the wings might lessen the roll effect and how easily the wind can make a 90 degree turn a 180 with this plane.

Those two deer were just sitting there watching me set up, I was hoping they would stick around long enough for me to do a flyover. One of the young ladies I work with wants an aerial of their farm for this years Christmas card, and she said there is a lot of bears out there so maybe CG..

It was hard to spot the deer on the screen, it's hard to see all the details on the little 7" Haier using the Gopro, the final video is much different than what I am seeing. I am going to the city today and the XsCargo stores still have some 10" Haiers in stock, so I think I will grab one for $58. I am still kicking myself for not grabbing the 15" Craig the Xs store in Calgary had when I was there a couple of months ago.. - my 540 TVL fpv cam should be in soon too so I am looking forward to that, then I'll be able to fpv with my Super Cub and perhaps Stryker.

Maybe the Stryker will be better for spotting bears, I can make a faster getaway..

ps. Clipper, how did you do that google earth zoom in that I saw in one of your videos?

Maybe you'd be better to invest in goggles ? Much much better picture. And the immersion feeling, can't beat that. I use the monitor only for tests and for viewers.

I've heard breathing into a paperbag helps...

I fully expect my motors and ESCs to show up today. My HK order is in the States, could show up any time now.

Brought home some junk PCB with SMT components to practice soldering on my 9X transmitter. If I do this correctly, I'll be able to display telemetry on the 9X's LCD, and be able to set alarms and such right on the radio.

Hi

I'm an FPV newbie too ..., I'm currently flying 2.4 Ghz R/C link and 1280Mhz video link ...

My very firstt moments of flying FPV ... I was actually practicing hovering my small s00 size quad .. and I was flying LOS mostly .. with a maximum of 3 to 5 seconds of FPV every now and then ... I really didn't know it was that hard ..

Actually I have an important question ...

Which is harder .. flying FPV with a fixed wing or with a rotary wing (VTOL) like Helis or multi rotors ... because I find it really hard to keep the quad hovering in one spot .. I don't have any other way to stabilize or keep the quad in one spot other than my sticks .

Any suggestions, links to training are greatly appreciated ...

Thanks a lot

Khaled

long time since I posted a video. A mixture of bad weather and technical issues kept me grounded for a while
We fly about 5miles away from Silverstone home of the British Grand Prix.
This was the British F1 racing day. When we arrived at the field, we were treated to a 20mins display from the Red Arrows.
After that, we started to fly. When the races finished we could hear helicopters all over the place returning wealthy spectators to their cars. One of them decided to fly over our patch and my spotters warned me out.
The cheeky sod was flying about 200m height low and slow as if they were checking us out...then he sped up and went away.
There is also footage of me been followed by Nick's Skywalker.

This footage shows why it is important to fly with spotters

Spotters are vital (4 min 59 sec)

Liked it very much also RCM, very nice. I take it that being a "cheeky sod" is a bad thing?
