AUCTION ENDS TODAY! How much is this Futaba FF8 T8UHP system worth?

Hi all
I need a new radio to use with my 2.4ghz FPV airplane setup. Futaba 72mhz PCM 1024 systems were recommended. I found this system on auction. It appears to have a PCM 1024 138 RX with it, and some nice servos. What are all the other things with it? The guy says it all works fine, except he broke the top switch in the 3rd picture.

How much is this system worth?

Thanks!
I guess this stuff is not sold anymore new, so teh worth is dependant on demand. Are there any new 72mhz systems that have comparable performance? How much do those run?

And what is that black box next to the RX?

Futaba FF8, a good old unit. Mode easily changed 1<>2.
Black box appears to be an additonal module (separate frequency or a synth installed?) or removed from back of TX for display

Thank you!
I'd get my wife to ask the seller more questions, but she's getting really irritated with me using her as a tech translator!

You might still be able to find one of the Futaba 10C radios that has the module which can use any of the FM/PCM modules. Also look for the older Futaba 9C series.

Not sure about Japan prices, but since good condition 9CAPs with modules can be bought for $120-150 in the US I wouldn't bother with this. However if you are dead set on it I think $90 tops.

Everything tends to be more expensive here. What's a 9CAP? I'm new to the hobby. I asked about a decent long range 72mhz system on another thread (so as not to interfere with my 2.4ghz video system), and a couple of people were very insistent on that it HAD TO BE Futaba 72mhz PCM 1024 tx/rx or I was being extremely foolish and not listening to good advice.

That is my favorite radio of all time of any of the radios I've owned. I liked it far better then the 9c that came after it. It's got a switch broken which will cost some money to get fixed. It's a module system that uses the same basic Futaba module that the 7uaf used before it and the 9C used after it and Hitec also cloned and have similar on their radios. It's a good decent radio. Don't pay a lot for it though.

It's got some servos (not worth anything most likely), 2 recievers, an RX battery (not worth anything and shouldn't be used since you don't know the age and condition), a frequency flag, a switch, the black box is probably the frequency module and looks labeled Futaba so it's most likely not a synth module, the other box above the RX looks like a gyro which might make sense since it's the heli version of the radio. More then likely the TX battery will need to be replaced also since it's getting pretty old if it's still the original.

For value I'd try to see if there are any others for sale on Ebay or look here and search the radio section of the for sale ads to see what others have sold for recently.

Thanks Ryan for the info. But by "got it" I meant "won the auction"! lol
Bit of a dog fight too, but got it amazingly 500yen under my preset price.
Good to know the contents as you described, thanks again.
I'm new, so a frequency module is like a frequency crystal, right? And a Futaba is better than a synth? Can the gyro be used for anything in my plane? Thanks for the heads up on the NIHMs.

You do realize that it is the "helicopter" version and not the airplane version?
