9" Mono with IPS

Fished out of the scrap yard for a picture before recycling!Wasn't very succesful so got shelved after one runThe motor is GWS 12mm from 40mm ducted fan with a FMA 9 Amps esc, was running on 72Mhz because my boat Rx are too bigI think the problem came from the prop used,a 3 blades low pitch from Robbe meant for small scale boats. Maybe it would have been better with a submerged drive! This was my only venture so far in micro size,I tend to favor about 18" hulls with speed-400 or 20X40mm inrunners which are easier to prop with Octura and handle high speed better! And the motor mount double as water cooling jacket.

The "Wild thing" is a blast in any configuration (IC,electric or gasoline). I have the original article by John Finch in my blog. Its easy to build and handle very well, I used the shape of it for one of my 16" mono.

Last week I started with a wildthing, 40cm long.
I see that you didn`t built a floodchamber in your wildthing hull.
Do you dont overturnred hull on the pond?
Does the turnfin help to avoid overturns?

We don't use flood chamber around here for oval racing (turn only one direction) and if you flip its just a DNF (races are only 5 laps and less than 2 minutes). The turn fin help as a pivot point in the turn to prevent skidding

Have had a Rolex Submariner for many years now, at the time it was about equivalent to $350, they now cost over $1500 here now but considering inflation I might say they are now more affordableThe part of Canada were I live is a lot warmer than the rest of the country, most winter we dont even get any snow

I found these boats at Toy R US for less than $15, hope can help any one trying to make some fast micro watercraft.

the two smaller ones are about 5 inch long and 1 1/2 inch wide.

Best Regards Tito
