My Whetstone II makes the list! I actually got a free copy of the Aeromodeller annual that the plan was in by asking nicely. It flew fairly well with a Tee Dee .049, always wondered if anyone over there tried a 1.5 diesel on one. They always came out tail heavy with the light Tee Dee.

Anyone got Dominator, Flingel Bunt, Early Bird & Mini early Bird?
Or how about the KielKraft Firefly, Gazelle or Firebird.

Just reminiscing, names from a fondly remembered past!

You can't go back, but its fun trying.......Paul

Some Team Racer article and plan scans from the times before they went for flying wings:

http://clamf.aerosports.net.au/categ...I-Articles.htm

...
There used to be lots of old Team Racing stuff - articles and pictures - at http://www.microair.info/indexf2c.htm

Anybody know what happened to it? Gone forever?
---
edit:
found it. It is now at http://faiclsocal.info/
If you have some time, you might find some cool stuff there.
---

Attaching a couple of images I must have copied from there:

RCChopper56 posted the Warburton Woodpecker plans from a 1962 or 3 American Modeler at
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showa...9&d=1274987293
There are several other plans posted in that same Civilian Scale and semi scale C/L thread in this Control line forum.

The Ringmaster Jr was always an "09" size model, way overpowered, and way nose heavy with any 19 other than an O&R, which had about as much power as a Black Widow 049, on it, so who decided to rename it so misleadingly?

Was that some foolishness from the rocket company that owned the rights for awhile? Estes?

Firefly is available from us (Replikit) as a full kit 27.95 plan only 4.95 and I think as a download for 2.95

Gazelle likewise at 32.95, plan same as above.

Firebird we have at 44.95, plan as above.

I think we have the Dominator plan somewhere as well.

That ringmaster airfoil looks a bit thin to me.

Is it the right one?

Pre-Nobler airfoils

All of the airfoils on the earliest CL models were "thin", and Ringmasters were no exception. Veco designs, other than those from Hi Johnson, were slightly less thin (Chief, for instance).

The S-1A version Ringmaster wing was only slightly thicker, but was far more modern, without any pollywog-like shape, and the high point was further forward, so it flew a great deal better. Still thicker, with its high point still further forward, the Flite Streak airfoil was the best of all the sport style profile designs.

It's still out there

Thanks guys, it is amazing just how much is still available out there, just does take some rooting out.
I still need to make, modify or source suitable tanks, but now have enough bits to keep me busy for some time to come.

Recent aquistions with matching engines to fly them:
Peacemaker shortkit with PAW 19
Mini Peacemaker partkit with PAW 1.49
Frog Talisman partkit with blue head Frog 150
Keilkraft Gazelle partkit with DC Sabre
Baby Flite Streak partkit with Black Widow or TD 051
Minibunt partkit with FOK 15 or PAW 1.49
also rebuilding my old Jasco Tracer with FOK 15

Isn't Fleabay wonderful?

All that lot takes me back over 40 years to before I discovered girls!

Keep up the good work.............Paul

The girls were always there, trying to be noticed. Ever notice how they shape their eyebrows like Gard airfoils?

Girls and young men's interests

Personally, I was so fascinated by machines of all kinds, be they cars, planes, boats, rockets, fullsize or models, that it seemed I only happened to take much notice in a particular girl, unless she could act as if she also was interested in that kind of thing. That is, until somewhere around age 17 for me, when some huge surge of testosterone overwhelmed me.

P. S. If I ever knew, I've forgotten now: "Gard Airfoils"?

Here are all of the Testor's training series of U-Control planes from the early 1950's. For those you you no old enough to know, Testor's was THE brand of model airplane glue for that period.
