Tempting...

I'm planning to go to the Nats in a couple of weeks time. Are you taking a stall?

No. show attendance this year has been abysmal. We cant justify the expenditure.

That's a shame. I've never been to the Nationals but I thought I'd take a look this year, given my newly rekindled interest in the hobby.

I'll take a look anyway, as it's not far from my place in Nottingham. BTW do you know of any C/L frienly clubs in the East Midlands? All my previous flying was done up in the North East. I was in the Novocatrians then but 150 miles is a bit far to travel for a spot of sport flying

That's the "Dark side" Nuneaton club. Don't think they do any CL there at all (But I may be wrong). The control line club is NMAS http://www.nuneatonmas.com/.

Drop along to one of the informal club nights (Details on the website), we have 2 nice grass circles plus one other which needs a bit of work to bring it back into use. Fairly active membership. Mainly F2B but some combat and TR interest as well. Wide range of skill levels from complete novice to regular world championship F2B team members.

Sounds fun. Lt of interest in C/L this year. People dusting off their Tigers and grabbing plans and kits..

Point taken about thread drift.

I've attached a plan for a nice little stunter, taken from an old Aeromodeller annual.

I'll scan a few more if anyone wants them...

I'll also add these 2 excellent resources.

For some time Zoe Quilter has each month a scan of specific month of old Aeromodeller and Model Aircraft magazines. ( http://www.fuelsoaked.me.uk/index.html ). Usually some decent full page plans in there people could probably work from. She also worked with Colin Usher who has begun posting links to Zoe's previous work.

A really comprehensive list of Aeromodeller, Aeromodeller Annuals, Model Aircraft, Model Airplane News can be found here to download. ( http://www.colinusher.info/Model%20Aircraft/images.html ).

Have fun.

Here's another nice looking little stunter. The plan suggests making it from pine and plywood!!! Must glide like a brick. I think I would try balsa...
