How dumb is it, eh? I knew it was only a matter of time in that thread. Hopefully we'll remain clear of it here.

RTP can be converted to CL so I think it's fine. BTW, that Hurricane is completely new to me, thanks.

I seem to have a parts sheet (ribs and a couple of formers) for the Dervish. I don't remember how I got it. Don't know about scaling...

Oh, also a plan scan that looks pretty clean:

aeromeddeler, many thanks especially for the Hurricane II, never seen before.

The plan is OK, but the Model Aircraft article seems incomplete, since there is page 112 only.

Is it possible for you to post the whole article ?

Many thanks again

Hello Z, problem is I scanned all the copies of Model Aircraft and Aeromodellers I have some years ago. All are now stored in boxes in the loft. I must have missed page 2 ect for some reason. Will have a quick look in the next few days but dont hold your breath.

Roger, thank you. Take your time, no problem. Incidentally I gave yesterday a quick look in the list of flying scale models attached in the last two pages of my 1976 copy of 'Flying Scale Models' by the late R.G. Moulton. This is a list containing the scale plans sold in 1976 by Aeromodeller Plans Service. It contains many Aeromodeller and Model Aircraft plans, but quite strangely this Hurricane is not listed.
Carlo (Z1007).

I just browsed through "Sticks and Tissue No 65 – April 2012" and spotted a good looking sport CL model called Minx III by Norman G Taylor from Model Aircraft, August 1951.

The drawing there is pretty small. Does anyone have a higher resolution one?

I'm attaching the pictures from Sticks and Tissue:

I've attached the pdf's of the Spanish version of George Aldrich's Peacemaker, the Smousen.

This is for 2.5cc TBR diesels but like the Peacemaker should fly well with the lightweight Asian glows such as the OS 15 with a muffler.

Ray,

I flew my Smousen with a Taipan Tyro up the front.

Really nice flier. Maybe one to go on the build list?

Oh, also a plan scan that looks pretty clean:
I built a Cyril Shaw "Dervish" back in the 90's. The original engine was an ED Hornet. It flew okay but the Hornet wasn't the most powerful of examples. I had a K&B green head 15 that dropped straight into the engine mounts so gave it go and promptly bent the wing. There's no spar, just a leading and trailing edge.
I threaded a carbon rod through the wing and double covered it and it was a delight to fly, way to quick, but fun none the less.
Here are the pics complete with the drop out undercarriage which worked surprisingly well.
It was fully cowled when I ran the Hornet, but never got around to making a new cowl.
If I built another one I'd use a spar again.
Here's some pics.
