Hello All
I have been flying with Easy Fly RTF Glider EPO - http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store...idProduct=7895

Easy Fly RTF Glider - HobbyCity.com (7 min 28 sec)

I was satisfied with it. Unfortunately It is broken last week and not easy to glue it together.
Now I m planning to do FPV. I was planning to buy Easy Fly again since noticed this topic.

For the FPV flying which one would you reccomend ?

Anyone throw a watt meter on this power system with the stock prop yet? I pulled my motor out and it is reads "C2830-21-A Prop 8" 11.1v" My plane came with a 11" prop, pitch unknown. Seems to me the motor shouldn't last long running on three cells on the stock setup. Plane does look good though. Maybe later this week I'll fire it up and check what this motor is pulling.

Thanks Topper
HK advertises it as a 1200KV motor. Either way, a 11 inch prop is probably too much for a 3 cell Lipo

Minimoa Motor Mount Melted

Maidened the Minimoa today and she looked great in the air until I heard a grinding sound when I throttled up. The motor got so hot that it melted the plastic mount. This is with minimal throttle use. I was gliding and searching for thermals 90% of the time. It's too bad, the Minimoa is a great flying plane.

Goes to show that this is the wrong size prop, for some time now it has been common knowledge that bell type motor were not the most efficient,
subject to overheating and high current draw = heat.
I have cut 3/4'' off the diameter but ill weather prevents me from a full test.
the vented spinner and exhaust holes will help mentioned in earlier posts.
now as the mounting legs are wrecked you could try to fit a cheap 900Kv 400 size motor with some downthrust .

Minimoa 10 days to the door

Got home tonight and the box was sitting on the porch. The box was in bad shape, mashed on the ends and pressed in on the sides. Not what I really wanted to see.

But the plane was in great shape with no damage. All the parts were wraped in bubble wrap and the spaces were filled with air plastic bags.

Going to keep the unit stock with the mods mentioned in the earlier post. Drill out some vent holes for the motor and prop. Will also check all the grubs screws and add lock-tight for all the bolts.

All in all very happy with the purchase, the classic lines and gull shape wings sure look sharp.

Thanks for all the info....

OK to achieve the recomended CG 54mm, I need to add roughly 160g?! What do I have the lightest batteries in the world? My 2200mah is roughly 170g.
So what is small and heavy that you can pick up at a hardware store?

On a Badius I used heavy guage soldering wire. Easy to shape and mold, even melt.
@ Olmod,
Thanks for the tip on removing the spinner
