No not yet. I still need a 4s Lipo and I'm still not sure if my 60amp ESC can handle that much power. But I hope to in a few weeks, to get the time to add the 70mm fan to my F18.

I was thinking about using my 70mm fan, with my 3s Lipo and 60amp ESC, but not sure if I then will get less power than I got right now.

I hope you get airborne soon, cause I'm pretty curious to hear about the power from the new fan

i maidened it today, with the edf70 and 3s 2200 (60a plush esc)

the wingtip things are a waste of time. repaired them 4 times before it ever got there (tiny bump snaps it every time)
lost one in flight, the other broke on long grass landing (with gear on)

take off is smooth but the steering servo (nosewheel) needs trimming real bad.
i could gently throttle up and it was airborne pretty quick with a good climb rate.

roll rate is terrible for rolls with clevis in centre hole @ the control surface. will need to go to the inner hole @ the clevis to get better roll rate but aileron feel is pretty good for general flight. (very easy control with no expo and 100% travel)

the edf70 has the most awesome air rush sound coming out the back of it even at 30-40% cruising speed, almost has that jet like sound. (i did say almost)

landing approach at 20% throttle gave very slow controlled gliding decent but needed less than 20% thr for a proper landing decent. (over 20% it seems to glide forever)

flight times are approx 3.30-4min most cruising with little burst. landing with about 11.6v.
30c pack lightly warm.
60a plush speedie cold as a rock when in stock esc location (fully exposed to air)

i used a reversing Y harness to solve the split ele.

Has anyone had much luck getting it to do much in the way of loops? The stock COG setup and the useless elevator servo controls rendered mine almost untable to loop at all.

Even with the 4800kv, extensive intake/exhaust porting + elevon setup I am now running it still has great difficulty doing loops.

im in the middle hole on the ele clevis, i thought the control was nice but i didnt try any loops.

im going to try get max controls on everything (in at the clevis, out at the servo) and see what loops or rolls it can do next time out.

I'm using the same motor (4800kv) and have no problems doing loops. It gets a little slow on top of the loop, but it completes the loop. I'm using the stock fan, but maybe using the 70mm fan would give more power and a more perfect loop.

Got mine finished today, with the following mods
larger battery with new hatch behind cockpit.
all L/G removed and steering servo.
tailplane halfs mounted "upside down" for top control rods - straight pushrods on each elevator and mixed with spare channel for easy split servo operation
hot 64 mm cyclone fan 4300 kv - 3s 2300ma lipo 34A 370 watts
4s 50A 704 watts
80A ESC
5mm cf rods inserted into each wing panel from root to tip
1.75" balsa wingtip extensions - no rocket rails.
nosecone filled with expanding foam
cheater holes enlarged - all ducting cleaned up a bit.
AUW (3s) 786Gram ( 1lb 11 oz )

No maiden yet, but wondered on the following:
1) Anyone had a wing break in flight - especially at root ?
2) Hows that AUW sounding?

not.likely:

it sounds like a good setup.

my 70mm fan is chewing 65a /681watt on a 3s, weighing in at i think it was about 814g a page or three back?

ive been wanting to strengthen the wings too but i wanted to fit one length across the entire wingspan... doesnt seem possible as it has to penetrate the ducting a bit in front of the fan.
might have to follow your lead and just do the wings up to the fuse
