I traveled from Michigan to see an event on Spreckels Lake! http://matthewsmodelmarine.wordpress...nd-boat-float/ (and I used to commute between Walnut Creek and Oakland on 24 thru the tunnel... that can be a long drive!) |

Tim may be referring to the time vs distance factor of driving in the Bay Area when he said "long". Last time I was in the Area, it took 3 hours to go 20 miles up the east side from San Jose to Richmond. Bicycle would have been faster, if I had the legs.

Been there, suffered that... try going from SFO to the Eastbay across the Bay Bridge on a Friday afternoon!
Saturdays are usually fine... avoid opening day for the Giants though... |

These contest posters are sized to print directly onto an 8.5x11 sheet of paper in your printers. So print a couple out and drop them by your local hobby shop, we'd love to have company at our next event! (We regularly have had a number of out-of -town folk come play with us including some participants from as far away as Washington state and British Columbia.) |

Was out at The Lake for a few minutes in the afternoon to check a couple of measurements and things for the new power squadron stanchions. The 36R free-sail squadron was out running heats and it was indeed a warm and very beautiful afternoon at The Lake!
If you can get there earlier than noon, I 'd really, really recommend it though as you might miss a lot of the fun! Looking forward to meeting you tomorrow
