So, a little rain scares of the majority of sailors???

Anyway, had a good time and a number of people made the Holiday Parade of Lights. Funny the rain went away just about the time peopleses started to arrive!

The lake was created in 1904.
post card rate was raised to 2 cents in 1952, so that's no help.
The publisher [Behrendt] of the above card was in business from 1906 to 1930, so that range was wide. The number on the card is 28315.
Found another Behrendt card 26632 postmarked 1-15-1915.
Both of these examples have very sharp definition for that era compared to the soft focus of the card below.
This narrows it down for the time being to the mid-teens.

The prototype back (north) line of buoys delineating the protected water was closed to Guano Point when another batch of buoys were dropped on Saturday. The line requires another couple of buoys and to be straightened and smartened up as far as proper spacing (20 feet) between buoys, but that will come right after the New Year.

I wasn't able to move the orange balls for the go-fasties, but I will do that right after New Years as well.

The person assisting me from shore was rain-soaked, shivering and threatening me with dire consequences if she didn't get exposed to warmth very soon!!! 'Nuff said, rowboat back into the Clubhouse!!

To many bouys detract from the look of the lake. A bit more enforcement couldn't hurt. Those that are driving boats to fast and not operating safely are ruining the lake for the rest of us.
To bad, such a unique place to run an rc boat. Hope things can come back into balance in 2013. Ryan

It is a shame that the lake has resorted to buoys everywhere. The lake has been ruined due to irresponsible drivers, city and SFMYC. I may stop by sometime soon just to see all the buoys in person and hand out fliers to those that would like to join Fremont District 9. The lake should have been enjoyed by all. Not just members (sail boats) of the club, but the residents of the bay area.
