Nope Viewpoint/location is wrong - it was shot from Guano Point about where the Tai Chi class likes to play.
And yes. the trees were removed more than 60 years ago. |

Wheeler One Design NorCal Race 3-Sunday

For those not familiar with Wheelers, they are the largest RC racing sailboats in the AMYA fleet at 79"LOA, 30lbs min wt, 85" mast and 2000 sq in of sail.) Race conditions were near perfect for these giants which are patterned after the famed off-shore "Maxi" boats with yesterdays winds blowing 15-20 mph. Next Wheeler race will be November 4th, in Monterey. Seeing these babies run down-wind Sunday was impressive. Whos got it better than this?! |

FLEET DAY Details, Sunday, October 28th, 2012
Place: Spreckels Lake, Golden Gate Park, south shore Time: Try to arrive and be all set up before 10:00 AM Vessels: All military vessels, all scales, are welcome. The event centers around a maneuvering challenge, for which 1st, 2nd and 3rd places will win brass plaques. At the same time, the area outside the course will be open to fun run activities. Food and drink: This will be a potluck, so bring something to add to the larder (drinks, chips, cookies, hot dogs, buns, condiments, etc.) Weather forecast: Mostly sunny, light breezes expected. State of the Lake: no weeds growing, and no floating algae. SFMYC's dingy will be on hand for recovery, and clubhouse and restroom facilities will be open. off-season (informal) SBOD racing
5 SBOD's have committed to off-season beer-can race #1 Saturday, October 27, 1-3 (6 races+more if there is inters), GG Park, Spreckels Lake No registration, fees, food prizes...just winter sailing for the hell-of-it. CU there & bring a friend Jt (enthusiast without portfolio) |
