Cracking day in Shropshire
Just wanted to put a few pictures up and say thanks to all at Sherriffhales PMFC for their hospitality yesterday. We had a smashing day's flying at this lovely site, at the kind invitation of Tim Hooper, Netty and Ruby the e-flight doggy.
We'd intended making the long trip south to the Colerne e-fly-in, but the forecast wasn't encouraging and fleet preparations didn't get as far as intended. The much shorter trip to Sunny Shropshire made a very acceptable alternative.
The club has a superb set-up with an excellent club house, nice pair of closely mown grass strips and fantastically open airspace. Our own club strip is a single, much longer runway, but with much less forgiving outfield. A stripped gear on my Mini Edge 540 would have been a total loss at our home patch but the gentle caress of the surrounding crops meant that she emerged without a scratch to fly again.
Youngleccy especially enjoyed being able to fly with Tim and the "Grey Mondeos" aerobatic team mirrored the Red Arrows synchro pair with close passes of the BVR Tucano and Seagull PC-9 Mid-air? Naaaaaaaaaah .
Thanks again guys and we hope to see you soon at our patch
