I saw some 600 TVL CCD Camera, but is it usefull ?? Do you think we'll see the difference with a 640*480 screen ??
Is this a waste due to the analogic link ??

A friend can't record from such camera using EasyCap.
I guess the recorder is puzzled by the 600 lines, more that 576, maximum it can handle.

Oooooh, very interested in any videos from this camera to see how it handles ground/sky transitions as well as low light. Been looking for a 32mm square board ccd for my quad copter. If they have a return policy I'll be giving one a try.

$52 for a 600 TVL camera, not bad. Would like to see some videos as well.

My buying window is a month out, so if no one beats me to it or trashes it in a review, I'll p/u one and post a video.

+600 TVL
+.01 Lux?
+Nextchip DSP?
+32mm square

-May not work with my goggles or video recorder
-Sharp brand (not seen many FPV videos from this brand)

I found the following video of an EasyStar with a 600TVL camera. Not sure if it's the same one, but how many 600 line CCD cameras can there be that'll fit on the plane.

While the recording quality is low, colors look good and both ground and sky remain visible. A few other questions can be answered as well...it proves that the video Tx, Rx don't have an issue with that many lines. And that the USB capture cable and laptop recording s/w (maybe virtualdub?) also work.

I'm going to go for it and get one, but gotta give my Paypal account a few weeks to recuperate from quad copter parts orders.

I've since purchased and installed this 600TVL camera on my quadcopter. It replaced a 420TVL Sony and, while it was an improvement, the color and sky vs ground visibility is still somewhat lacking IMO. If weight is a concern then I would recommend it (it's only 23g) but if not, go with the KPC VSN500 or KPC VSN505 as either will be a better camera.

Here's some video's from the 600TVL. It got wet while flying in some snow a couple months back, so I'm not sure if the blurriness on the sides is due to that, the 2.8mm lens I've added, or something else.

Notice that all PAL cameras have 625 lines (576 are visible).

The 480 or 600 'lines' is about the resolution on the horizontal axis, more details here :

Here's an eBay find in the 600TVL category. This one's a bit more $$, but it has a 2.8-12mm manual lens and an OSD.

http://cgi.ebay.com/600TVL-CCD-Board...#ht_3998wt_702

Anyone have more details? There's not a lot of info on the listing and no link to a manual.
