Helicopter set-up sheet

I have developed a setup sheet that allows you to fill out all of the most important parameters that you can setup on a helicopter.

The form is a Adobe Acrobat PDF file that you can download from my site once you have downloaded it you can fill in the information of your particular helicopter and when you are done you can save or print the set-up sheet.

I was used to using set-up sheets from the time is raced 1:8 scale nitro buggies. And found it to be a simple way to get a set-up history build up that lets you look back on previous set-ups that you used. A second benefit of these sheets is that you can very easily share your setup with other pilots. Also when you have a problem and you want to ask for help on a forum people usually want to know what your set-up as so they can help you better to find a solution, now you can attach your set-up file to your post and people can see what set-up you are using in a very easy way.

I only made the set-up sheet for a electric helicopter because that's what i fly and that's what i'm familiar with. A gas version will follow as soon as i have the proper information for it.

The use of the sheet has no limitations other then that it may not be altered or used commercially unless i give the o.k. to use it. I expect that there will be things that i left out and that one of you would liked to have in the form, i will collect any remarks and decide based on those if i will ad or change something to the sheet(s).

I have attached a blank sheet and a sheet that i put information in from a flight with my Swift.

Well see what you think and try it out if you want.

Hans,

Great job, I like the idea of the heli schematic diagram in the spread sheet.

Another idea would be, is to have a spread sheet for tracking and logging battery statistics for each battery the flyer has.

Example:

Date Purchased
Manufacture
Number of cells (3s,4s,5s etc)
Milliamp Rating
C Rating
Size of battery in mm (optional)
Number of flights used
Number of mAh's used for that flight
Flight time for that session
Heli / Plank used on

And anything else yourself/someone comes up with.

That would be a nice thing to have, i think a spreadsheet would be the best choice for this. First a few fields with general data regarding the battery and than a top line with measured parameters than you could make an entry on every line below that.

You would have to mark the packs like you did in the picture to keep good track of them.
I'll see what i can come up with.

I'm sure he means "Angles". I wasn't aware that this was a spelling contest.
It's all about sharing information and ideas, Mac is doing great.

Did I sepll eevverythnig rghit? Thousands of errors out there, who cares? It's something in my life that WON'T make a difference.

BTW, angels isn't misspelt. Angels are messengers of God. And right now we need them.

I don't like the setup on that heli... the receiver is too close to the motor...

Really though, this is a great idea. I like the box for the radio setup, but you might want to add the actual settings - the servo reversing and swash mixing, and the name of the radio used.

I to wanted to do more radio setup but was a little out of room for it, maybe i should make room for a few important setting like the ones you mentioned servo reversing and swash mix i will browse my radio and see what i come up with. As for the name of radio used there is already room for that in the radio section.

I could make the form stretch out over two pages, one for heli setup and one for the radio set-up.
