I also have a lot of interference in my basement due to overhead electric wires..its driving the 27 mhz crazy I was wondering if I could use the MRX-3100 ESC & DSM from a Losi Micro Crawler to convert it over to Specktrum?

Yes you can. But, the 3100 from the crawler uses a 3 wire servo. The servo in the Rally/SCT is a 5 wire. I don't know if the servo from from the crawler will fit in the Rally/SCT chassis.

Hi Guys,

It seems that I'm likely to be doing a trade to get one of these losi micro rally cars. I don't know much about them but I have one concern, maybe one of you could offer some clarification?

It seems that the esc and RX are one unit, am I right? So do I have to use the stock TX if I stick with a stock setup? SUrely I can swap a different RX in right?

Thanks and they really look like fun, especially the jumping

The ESC and RX are on the same circut board. You will have to swap them out separate if you wish to upgrade. You will then have to swap out the servo as it is a 5-wire servo and wont work with most aftermarket RX's. There are many cheap 2.4ghz radio/rx combos out there that work reallt well and some really good brushed esc's that would allow you to change the radio/esc/servo, but keep the brushed setup.

However, doing a complete upgrade isn't that hard and there are a lot of good threads over at the microt site detailing how to do the swaps. Here is mine...

Could someone please measure the wheels (for both SCT & Rally, if possible)?
I am thinking of throwing a 4WD Rally agains our RWD Mini-Z's on the track, as it would fit the class restrictions .

However I need to make sure that Mini-Z tires will fit, there's a great selection of compounds and ratings available for them. If not it would be very bad, as a wrong tire would negate the 4WD advantage on the track (we race both carpet and RCP).

Or, where do you buy your tires from? Are they available in various hardnesses?

Thanks!

What lipos are you guys running?

I currently have a hobbyzone 300mah 7.4 velcroed to the top of the chassis, but I'd really like to find a 2s that would fit in the battery tray.

Losi wanting $30 for their lithium is crazy. Surely there is a 5 buck hobbyking battery or something...

Thanks -Brian

You can check here for the batteries I am using. Or here...

I like the hobbyking 360 rhinos and haven't used the 350 zippies they offer but will try those next. I modify them to fit my setup but from what I read, they should fit with no modification as well. You will have to change the plug unless you follow my lead and just use the balance tap.
