Bashing just isn't my thing. I prefer to work on improving my precision driving skills & maintaining the racing line, or work on making things look scale. However, I have not raced the SCT against anyone in formal competition.

I purchesed the brushed model and just got done dropping anothe 400 or so in upgrades.

Spektrum 2.4 radio and esc.
8740kv brushless motor
3s lipo
All aluminum suspension
Aluminum shocks
Exotek chassis
Aluminum spur
Heatsink for motor

Its actually scary fast on 3s. I had to turn the throttle travel to 55% in order to keep it under control.Name: uploadfromtaptalk1363407286931.jpg

They still spin, but slower than other wheels and I can stop them with light touch of a finger. I could not find any help with google search.(that usually works well for my Blade helis). Thanks in advance for any help
If its not a build up of hair it sounds like it could be the dog bones. What you described has happened to me a few times, and everytime it was an issue with the dog bones. First time it happened one of the dogbone pins fell out. the 2nd and 3rd times were due to the dogbones not putting enough pressure on the outdrives, the simple fix was to cut a small circle of rubber and stuff it into the outdrives so there was enough pressure when the dogbones were installed to lock the outdrives into gear.

Google: 1/24 LOSI outdrives and 1/24 LOSI dogbones if you dont know what these parts are

I've got a Hobby King servo on the way. I was wondering if the stock servo saver is going to fit, or if it needs modification.
Cheers,

Just got one and......

....I'm flippin hooked on the SCT!! I never thought I'd like a sct but this thing sweets me!The BL system is pretty damn good on the stock battery, but I can't wait to get some lipos for it! I can see myself moddin the hell out've this thing!! Here comes the aluminum! The Exotek chassis is lookin really good. Is there a bellcrank steering system out so a regular servo can be used with a regular Rx?

Hi,
Do you know if it's possible to programm the throttle endpoints for a micro rally brushless (as for a losi mini 8ight) ?
In the familly we've got 4 cars and one is really more powerfull than the 3 others, or it's seems that at 20% of the throttle travel it's like 100% on the other cars. So it's very hard to accelerate just a little.
Thanks.

Check if the axles/wheel nuts spin while you stop the wheels with your finger. I have three wheels with the axle hole shaped as an O, instead of D. A couple of my friends have the same problem. Between us I think we have 8-9 of the white standard wheels go bad. The black / gold ones seems to be stronger.

+1, the white wheels are very bad quality, a few runs with the car and the axle hole shaped as an O, instead of D.
I bought gold wheels and it is stronger

I have a brushless sct on the way and am wondering what 2s lipos fit. Not overly concerned with the plug as I will most likely switch the truck to micro deans but it must have a balance plug so I can use my low voltage alarm.

You cant beat naon-techs by hobbyking for both price and performance.

300mah 2s or 180mah 3s fit the stock chassis well. They both use red JST plugs.

The stock BL sct is good for 3s out of the box, but for prolonged use or racing in warm weather you may want to add a 12mm heat sink, and/or a small cooling fan.

EDIT: Also micro deans are useless and dangerous IMO. I had MDs but I swapped them for JST and never looked back. The batteries I mentioned wont fit in the stock chassis with a MD plug, but the slimmer JSTs fit well.

I use Hyperion 240s. Their voltage-holding ability under load is second to none & they last for 300+ cycles at 5c charge before they start to fade away, when properly cared for.
