The weight of two 6S5000 lipos in a 90mm jet will surely make it fly really badly!? It's not about whether you can fit them in.

This is much bigger than your standard 90mm jet.
The 9305V2 (fan unit) puts out 8-10lbs. of thrust without breaking a sweat.
My L-39 has flown on as large as 10s 5500's.

OK. If you say so. But its wingspan is 1.1m compared to the Schuebeler El Bandito's 1.25m.

Check out the flight videos.
130mph of awesomeness with no nasty flight characteristics. And a landing speed of about 15-20mph with flaps.

This one's from last October.
I hope to get some more video soon! She'll be going with me to Big Jolt in CA at the end of this month.

Here's a link to the very first flight.
Had an ESC problem, but still got her back on the ground in one piece... some of the guys in the pits didn't think anything was wrong until I brought her back in and took the canopy off!

Will this jet take off of short grass. We have a 420' grass runway that we keep cut very short. I've taken off and landed some foamy edfs (most of my composites have been bungie launch) from it and my warbirds have no problems. The main thing is will the gear hold up to it? I'd really like to get this jet but only if it will not have issues on grass.

Also what is the motor/fan/esc combo being used in that video? [Edit] Never mind on the power setup, I see he has it listed on the vimeo page.

Some of those are 70mm like the sapac, and hobbyking. No turbine conversion for those.

Jet-Teng already have turbine conversion. HET could be turbine conversion but no one done it yet.

If I were to do turbine conversion I would do Jet-Teng only because it has been done before, but if you are a pioneer go for the HET.
