I am putting together a 1/5 scale WACO YMF-3 and I have gotten to the landing gear. I have never been able to solder. I have had people tell me how to do it, I have read many articles on how to do it but every time I try I screw it up. A friend is going to come over this week and see if he can get it done.

I have no serious repairs in progress but a few half-assembled or NIB kits and arfs lying around.
There's an Intern-66 that needs to be covered and finished. A 50% (55") electric Agri-Duck that's needed minor repairs since about... several months ago. Now that summer's in full swing, I'm revisiting other long-forgotten hobbies like sailing and hiking, so planes aren't getting my full attention. There's an Electrifly Seawind EP that will be finished in a week or two, in time for a week's vacation at a lakeside cottage. |

I've got an Electrifly/Great Planes Spad in the hangar right now. I'm fairly new at this and my runway is a gravel road. Anyways, long story short, I have found that if I'm not perfect on my landings that the WWI planes tend to flip really easily!
![]() On the last landing I flipped and tweaked the wings and cracked some balsa. I've got the replacement parts on the way so I hope to have it repaired soon. Once it's repaired I plan on practicing a bunch more before I take it back up and try landing it again. -Stone1295 |
