Need a good set of lights on your helicopter. Maybe infrared navigation.

I have no sympathy. That's a typical day in Houston.

Houston? Nobody has ever explained to me why anybody would build a city there. Prior to the hurricane, Galveston was the cultural center of Texas and Houston was a backwater nobody with any choice would live in. Houston is a swamp with the alligators replaced by criminals. It's like New Orleans except without any historical significance whatsoever. If I were Sam I'd sue Texas to have my name taken off that town. It's like Bangladesh with money.

Sis and I spent a weekend with cousins in Houston in 1987. After dinner we went for a walk around the neighborhood. Seeing as how their house was a sprawling ranch-style priced around a quarter mill, we couldn't imagine any danger. When we got back and told them we were walking around the block, they were aghast. "Don't EVER do that", they told us. "You're lucky to still be alive."

You see, Houston has absolutely no zoning. IOW, a $1/4M house can be across the street from a ghetto. Houston may not have Chicago's corruption or Detroit's decay, but it's got everything else bad you could imagine. Oh, in intermittently between being America's highest-crime city, it's always been America's most polluted and most congested. Houston defines 'hellhole'. The only good thing about DFW is that it's NOT Houston. Houston is Boosier City Louisiana with its ego inflated 100,000 times.

Heheheh, I misspelled it, cuz we used to call it 'boozier' city. Our band played there. It's appropriately scaled and unpretentious, if a tad swampy.

I was born and raised in Gary, Indiana. At the time, it was the murder capital of the United States.. A real nice town to be "From". The only HEAT we worried about, was someones heater/gun.

Cool
I refuse to fly in this heat...my motors and batteries can't take it anyway.

I have a 2wd nitro stampede and loves the snow!
Not great traction, but more than enough to have some fun!
I'll have to do the sock thing this winter. She doesn't like running cold. I never even thought of insulating the motor.

Yup the sock works well.Use a baby sock cut the foot part off and toss it..use the upper part of the sock and put that over the head cooling fins.Pull it right down to the block and right up to the top of the head. You can slide it down if it gets to warm and pull it up to keep it warm.
Some guys use tin foil but it can cause radio glitches. If you can take the cold run it rich and keep a sock on the head you will have a blast. And as a bonus your truck stays clean and new looking. It is really fun after some freezing rain...when there is a nice tough crust on the snow.
Have fun.

Micronut,

Make ya some snow chains for the winter months. You could make more links if you wanted too.
