Maybe but I had more problems with my lawmate Rx then with the BOB Rx.

But as you say you may need to be lucky.

Problem is: to have a Fox tx and a Lawmate Rx you have to buy 2 combos and the lawmate ones are expensive. Also channel switching on a lawmate is really not handy.

try to turn your rx and tx on first and wait 10 seconds or so then turn on your other fpv stuff

you for sure have to be lucky, i tried 7 of the fox/bob rx's to get a really good one, and even that needed modifications, they all work, but some are way better performing than the others

to make the lawmate work is easy and not hard to switch channels

(Anyone who buys a Fox-700 or Fox-800) Let us know how well it works. David22 is has apparently had quite some bad luck with Sunsky and BOB receivers lately. It would be good to get some other reports to figure out whether a bad batch has run it's course.

I have a Sunsky FOX 800mw 1280mhz video system. I went out 5 3/4 miles (9.3km) and still had excellent video. I'm using an inverted vee antenna on the vtx and a goof proof patch on the receiver.

Jeez, just out of curiosity how many Sunsky 800 systems do you have? If more than 1 I am curious how they compare to each other?

some create a white flashing or something like that.

I put a video tx up a mountain lookout with a line of sight of my ground station, with stock antenna and a large 3 cell battery to make sure volts were steady.

This alowed me to test the rx's and different rx antennas.

this test can be done, in house, as well, just walk the video rx away untill signal is poor, but still "seeable" and go back to ground station to perform similar tests

out of the six or so rx's one didnot work hardly, and one worked very well.

even trying to manual tune them, didnot correct a white flash and crackle
type of video

the one that worked very well, the best of the bunch, I used.

the differences in video quality between the exact same rx's messed with my video divercity as well, especially my dvr

eliminated video divercity, and started to experiment with haveing the 1.2 rx close to the rc tx (uhf) found the "lawmate" is better at close proximities, in my case.

there is another guy on rc groups who had the exact same conclusion not all of these rx's are the same

Please tell me what's this antenna? I've seen them only in UHF. Do you have a link? DBI? I've order a 3dbi rudder duck for the vtx.

The first post,

Antennas

Stock Antennas give good results but here are some better ones

Tx: Go for IBcrazy's inverted Vee, better results and lighter.

I have two of those Fox video receivers feeding my Oracle. Initially had video dropout problem with one of the receivers. I ordered another one. Turned out I didnt need to as the problem was resolved just by rx positioning. Also I notice if using a whip antenna, best to lay rx body to be perpendicular(acting as ground plane?) to antenna. Now two are working well with my Oracle, and the third one I use as a spare or when I want to use a single rx (not lugging my heavy GS to the field).
Another thing is I bought those rx from three different suppliers.

Non sequitur: The 700 and 800 have identical receivers.
