Any remedy for this? It makes it complicated to use that VTX and been forced to change CH every time you start it...
I noticed your post and started seeing something similar. My tx used to remember its channel and now it doesn't. Now, the button sometimes is unresponsive/the display doesn't change. Sometimes when i'm cycling the button the display goes blank and i have to cycle power to get it to come back on. Anyone else seen this? is my Tx going bad?

After reading this thread I decided to go with the Fox 800 and couldn't be happier. I am using stock antennas and flying around my air field less than one mile without issue. The one thing that I didn't realize is that the Fox uses RP-SMA adapters to link the antennae instead of the SMA adapters that most others use. Now I have to get a RP-SMA to SMA adapter to use my DVR link from reciever to TV screen. No big deal, but I couldn't figure out why my adapters didn't work until I came across the answer by accident.

Daemon,

This is where I got this from. I'm now confused. I know my DVR cable doesn't fit into my Fox-800 reciever and figured this was the problem. Look about halfway down where it states that you have to have a RP-SMA female to SMA female adapter. I assumed this was why my DVR cable wouldn't go into my Fox 800 reciever? Am I reading this wrong?

Connection between Receiver and DVR has nothing to do with SMA.
Those are all composite RCA connectors, and presumably you need
some sort of gender changer to link two male plugs together.

Rogman88,

You're confusing the type of connections.
Fox 800 (Sunsky 800mW) VTx has a SMA female input for you to use SMA male antennas, just like the link you refer.
Foxtech webstore sells 5.8GHz gear (not 1.3GHz) that came with other type of connectors: RP-SMA, or reverse polarized SMA.
And, as Daemon said, for connecting your receiver to the DVR we're speaking of other matter and for that you need the very common RCA connectors. It has nothing to do with the plug for attaching the antennas.

Oh, I see! Thanks guys. I would like to make a cloverleaf/skew planer setup for my Fox 800 transmitter/receiver combo. Since I am a complete noob at this, I just want to be sure that I get the right leads. I need SMA male leads like this.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/12in-SMA-mal...item256370c38e

Now that you mention it...I feel quite stupid asking the previous question...RCA adapters is what I need to get my DVR to connect to receiver. I'll look at them again and will go to Radio Shack to find one.

Thanks again guys for bearing with my noobness.

yellow / white Boobs are RCA
Small holes can be special like Ipod plugs and most of the time they will come with the reciever.

Best 1.3GHz combo

Hi

At present, what would be the best 1.3GHz receiver/transmitter combo? I was thinking ReadymadeRC but nearly everything is out of stock there.

Is it still the FOX-800 transmitter and Lawmate receiver? Or something else?

In short: What TX and what RX would you buy now for long range flights?

I use Chainlink radio system.

Thanks!

I would buy a fox 800 kit + lawmate receiver.

Or stuff from readymaderc if they have stock.

But this may be a problem with the Gopro audio level could be too high.
Did it have the sound issue? or is it gone with the new lawmates?

1.2GHz Omnidirectional antenna

Hi all,

I am building FPV system for my RC car. I have already 1.5W 1.2GHz Tx/Rx.
But I do not have proper antennas. I want to use omnidirectional antennas with about 6dbi on Tx and Rx.

I found this antenna on e-bay but I did not found any particular info about it:
1.2 GHz 7 dBi Omni GSM rubber Antenna SMA male connect

http://www.ebay.pl/itm/1-2-GHz-7-dBi...item2310e25701

If in your opinion it is not worth it I could build my own antenna based on this tutorial:
http://wireless.gumph.org/articles/homemadeomni.html

Thank in advance

Hi, so much work, not worth of I think... Make tuned dipole antenna and you'll be fine: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1159968

For the car the CP antenna would be better... but you can't hide it in the car.

I flew yesterday evening with 1 watt lawmate and audio was great , just had to,turn down the volume

It is great to hear servos etc. if one of my servos is slightly bound and makes buzzing I can stop that with little servo movement, so glider has no servo sounds but just wind

Motor sound also is great

Maidened a glider but powered the video,tx with separate battery

Now plane is trimmed etc i will remove video tx battery and just power the camera and 1 watt lawmate via balance plug of a 3 cell

I hope with ground tests my camera and video tx work to 8.5 volts

You mention to me a while ago about better penetration with non omni antenna
I switch to fan antenna and now fly into areas that with stock whip was unflyable
Thanks

For short range in good flying rf areas the omni work perfect
