It's a short coupled plane, so I think good knife edge will always be hard. On the other hand, others on this thread have said they regularly knife edge the plane. I think the CoG would be the critical factor here. I suspect it probably needs to be more forward than I would prefer for my flying.

Check the throw on the rudder. If you're not getting the full throw you may have problems like you describe. I had a problem with the rudder pushrod binding in the hole in the fuse on mine, severely restricting the throw in one direction. After I opened up the hole so the rod moved freely through the whole range it helped a lot.

I'm happy to report the stock prop is a much better fit than the 10x8 that was on it when I got it. I was able to get it vertical and hold it it for a bit while it torque rolled. Sounded awesome! Got a tail slide in there too...i think a 2200 is just too heavy to sustain those types of maneuvers. The KE is getting there...

I agree, the stock prop is tons of fun. Makes a great sound when it stalls too (during harriers, attempted hovering, tailslides, etc.).
@ MrMurder: If you want to take a shot at hovering, you'll want a prop that can provide lots of thrust and has the diameter to blow plenty of air over the control surfaces. A 12x6 has been the most successful one I've used, and the consensus on here seems to be the same. Best of luck, cause 3D with this puppy ain't easy! Josh |

Part of my problem (with precise knife edge) is that I have hacked away into the battery hold so much, to fit large batteries, that the batteries just sort of flop around the inside and the CoG changes. I guess I should try a smaller (lighter battery) fixed in place to keep the CoG forward, but the nose as light as possible.
