Flybarless Heli

I'm planning to convert a Trex 450 clone to flybarless using a Walkera combination receiver and 3 axis gyro (single unit) and a flybarless rotor head. Any comments?

Welcome to RC Groups

What 3 axis gyro are you going to use. The V-Bar and Skookum SK720 are the most popular.

How many channels does you radio have?

Please keep us posted. It should be interesting to see if that gyro can handle it. The latest version receiver works with the 2801 Pro, which would seem to be the best way to be able to set it up.

The walkera 3 axis gyros are an all in one unit, with a 6 channel RX and gyros built in.

Ditto.
We have now decided to use the Gaui Gu-365 stabilizer since it appears that the Walkera unit would not work with a ccpm heli.

I don't see why not. Walkera have used them in the 4F200 and the V120D02.

The unit from the 4F200 should be available soon and has been confirmed to be fully compatible with the 2801Pro Tx. i would suggest you use that one.

Those Gaui Gu-365 units are notorious for not working. Any other brand would be better than that.

Hey Guys, I waited for months and got a rx2702v and a 30a walkera esc to use with my exi450. Wow Hobbies gave me instructions for set up, but its in broken English if anything. Do you have any idea how to program this rx with my 2801pro tx? I can get everything to initialize on bind, but cant seem to get the motor to fire up. I'm hoping you can explain in simple laymen terms to a newbie thats only been highly addicted to this hobby for just over a year how to get this done.

Thanks
Mark

There is a thread about using the Walkera 3 axis gyro in the micro heli forum that might help you.
