I can now officially participate in this thread!
I picked mine up from Robbin's Hobbies in Glendale earlier today. Assembly was very quick. I am using the 11X in mine, at the moment. I used the maximum throw I could get without stalling the servos and 10% Expo on Aileron and Elevator. I increased the rudder throw a bit. The plan has enough power that it flew out of my hand with a gentle toss. It pulled a bit to one side at full throttle but flew very straight at about 3/4 throttle. It is very easy to fly. The rudder is nicely effective. It was fairly windy with some gusts but the plane did pretty well with it, even though it is quite light. It is quite a bit faster than I thought it would be. I did get it to snap roll, something I don't do often and have not been able to do with the T-28 (I have not attempted it on the ME-109). The timer was set for eight minutes (I think Dave said he flew his for eight minutes, so that is where I set the timer). I felt no reduction in power at the end of the eight minutes. I am looking forward to flying it more, later this evening. I think they have another winner on their hands! |

I can officially post in this thread now too! I got home to that wonderful message on my answering machine that my plane was in at the LHS. I just finished putting it all together. I went to the second hole from the last towards the rudder and elevator as the extra throw should make things more interesting. The maiden flight will hopefully be tomorrow night.
I'll be back to tell all! Robbie |
