Last week, I got picky went around again and went into low voltage cut off.
Dead stick cuts down on your choices.

Try to avoid hitting the low voltage, it'll do your lipos good. I try not to get lower than 40% on my lipos. Landing is good to practice. I am lazy tho!

Yes lvc is late for the lipo.
I am generally pretty good on this.
The bat that day had to work against a lot of wind.
My alarm went off after landing!
Seems like I just got it. But it has to be 3 years old!
No excuse.
I set lvc to medium or high and usually have a good 3.96v left.

These little alarms work great. I hook one up for every flight on the balance lead. Better then waiting for LVC and no prop, and better then TX alarm as it works on actual voltage reading and not a guess. HK also sells one. Also double duty as a quick way to check total pack V and and each cell V.

My first flight ended in near disaster because I tried to land too close. Should have gone around...

An alarm is not a bad idea.
Yet it must draw, just when you need to get home.
:Been wanting to put in an audible 'lost' alarm in case I go down.
It is either forested or planted here.
After harvest is not bad. Going down in corn or what ever can be a bad dream.
Naturally the farmer must be considered.
It was my 800mm T-28 I put into LVC.
This is the first time for me, except for one cell micros.
Flying a 450 heli was a steep learning curve.
No power, a 450 is a brick! Auto rotate? Not my unit.
I had an old school mentor , who taught me to be sensitive to throttle response.
It is pretty evident with a heli. You find quickly that you need more T stick to stay up.
BTW he (Stan Kopreski) won the heli scaler at the nats this year, with a Bell 47!
Some how I usually come down with 3.95 V per cell left. Which is just about were
I put them in storage.
With the DX8 telemetry could be set up, but it is too much futzen for me!

Another nice thing about these alarms. By default, they should go off before LVC (settable 2.7~3.8V). LVC leaves dead stick in many esc, which is much too late IMHO. Alarm gives me a couple laps around normally before LVC. They kinda serve also as a lost alarm as they will keep beeping until removed or voltage is drained.

Going to have to get one of the alarms to put in my PBY. Worse that dead stick landing is having one esc on twin go LV and other esc still running motor.

Yes it would serve as a lost alarm, it may as well serve two purposes.
2.7 seems low.
My T28 dead stick, which I'felt' coming measured 2.83v per cell.
Hey a lot of war birds came home on one motor!
