I've had very good success making my Wildcat more wind-capable, using the $15 ORX stabilizer from Hobby King.

Also, if you scroll though the attachments to this thread, you can see lots of things guys have done to make their 'Cats more visible. (Click under "Thread Tools," at the top of any page.)

Edit: Added photo. That's an excellent book on the table, too.

For me, not easy to see at all which is why I painted mine like this.

Hey Pugsan,
I can't find that stabilizer on HK site. Do you have a link? or what category is it under?

Here's the HK page.

I see it's on backorder now. (It sells out pretty fast each time it's in stock!)

You can find out more about it by following my link back to the flight test in the F4F, and from there into the ORX thread itself.

Alternate PZ wilcat schemes

That is a fine-looking scheme. As you say, reminds us of the Douglas Skyraider.
Attached, a couple schemes I painted, but for my next one, I sure like this scheme.

Thank you guys! I just realized that adding colored tape or stickers might help me out a lot. Since the prop has some yellow in it, that makes a lot of sense to me for color along will black stripes on the underside.

Hell, I might even get some Seahawk stickers to put on it

Mine flies great in wind up to about 15mph. Running it on 2200 mAh batteries helps with a little extra weight, and a little extra duration. Mine is stock otherwise, and comes "Highly Recommended".

It's a great little plane, and I use it nearly every time I go flying to blow away the cobwebs.

Try it, you won't be sorry.

I am just about to press buy on this thing. I ordered a second stock size battery with it as I cannot justify paying the cost for the 2,200mah battery at this point. I am sure in the future when I want a little more speed and get more daring with it, I will be ready for that next step.

I still plan on putting my stock stickers back on and maybe some other designs with tape.

Have you tried Hobbypartz.com or Hobbyking.com.
Hobbypartz has a line called GensAce and they are great batteries. Hobbyking has a line called NanoTech and they are great batteres and at a fraction of the cost.

Tape may ultimately be the way I go for something to help it stand out in the sky. Maybe some red or black racing stripes on the wings.

After 10 landings I had 1 damaged prop. Going to use SF E-9x6 props that cost 1/6 the price of a Parkzone prop.
Nice Job,

Have you ever thought of a tail gear solution? "steerable solution"
