As for the range, there could be other factors that led to the loss than being out of range. 500 ft for an AR500 should be fine under normal conditions. Low battery, BEC circuit overloaded (hence a brown-out.) Motor failure, etc.. Who knows.

Yes ESC in stock location, Batteries weigh 6.65 to 6.75 oz. I painted wingtips which could provide a subtle change.....

We had the AR500 out as far out as we could see on an Apprentice, no problem......

You mentioned the plane flew over appartments and a mall (hopefully not south coast plaza!). It is possible interferrence from towers, like cell towers, tv stations and the like which might be the cause of sgnal loss? Were you flying near a lot of residential/commercial buildings/areas?

If i could only fly at crystal cove park...what a dream!

Tx is a dx6i and I had about 5 minutes on a 2200. We took my buddy's powered glider with a gopro on it to scan the roofs but the wind ripped one of his wings off. We got his plane back minus one of the wings.
I do feel like I got my $200 of fun out of her.

yea i bought my f4f for 119 pnp and put a orange rx haven't had any problems at all minus dumb thumbs on super windy days lol

Finally got my FPV Wildcat airborne.. what an experience.. flying this thing from the pilot seat! Dragging a wing inches from the ground. Amazing fun.

The plug-n-play version comes with servos and esc. The only things you need to fly it are a transmitter, receiver, battery and charger; all of which you should have except the receiver (unless you only had one battery for it).
