Transition issues as you describe is often related to the set tavel points of the gear switch. Increase your travel end points. You may even need to rebind, gear down, with the new fail safe travel settings.
Only other concern is they seem to be adjusting the transition points of a number of the various makes.

It doesnt matter how long I wait between cycles, it still does it. I have a DX5, so I dont think thats the problem. I do have long extensions, so I'm not sure if thats an issue.

Not sure what a DX5 has to do with it. This is applicable to setup for any TX. Did you set your travel end points to max?
The gear tansitions at a set usec or %. They don't transition at exactly the same usec generally set from the factory, so as reported, you need to find the transition point for all 3 and set your travel point accordingly.

Travel point in the retract itself? I thought your were suggesting travel point settings in the TX. The DX5 is not a computer radio.

Do they make analogue radios still. You may not have figured out the travel control but it would have to be a computer radio to be a 2.4.

But you may be stuck if you can adjust the travel range. Travel range in usecs is commonly 899-2200 usec. Most TXs set this via tavel in a % value. +/-100% is generally 1350 and 1650. The etracts transition around and at times beyond this. So most just set the travel to 150%.
The etract is triggered to retract at a certain % or usec and open at a different % or usec which is set at the factory and is not exact having measured several myself. If your TX can't properly reach past the trigger point, it doesn't transition properly. With one it may with several the pulse position varies with Volt/amps during transition.
Try a different TX if you have or try one retract at a time to isolate a wire issue or a retract set beyond your DX5 range.

I need to add retracts to a large scale plane. The wing thickness at the mounting point is only 28mm thick so I am looking for a solution with a very low profile. The main wheels themselves retract into a wing-mounted nacelle so only need to "hide" the struts in the wing. Mechanism suggestions? Need to keep weight down. It's an EDF scale UAV - 3.3m span. 1:12 scale.

Anyone heard when HH will have 60-120 E-Flite 100 degree rotating retracts available? Sure would like to replace the junky mechanical retracts in my H-9 aircraft.

I've had the 25-46 tri gear in my A-10 for some time with no issues to date. I just installed the 25-46 100 degree rotating in my Skyraider and so far they holding up very well also. I did receive a bad one right out of the box which was replaced by the LHS. I'm really pleased with the quality and performance so far.
