Ran up the 4800 today on 4S in the Evader, got 50 amps and 725-750 watts. I'm guessing I'm pushing this motor pretty hard, have to keep the wot passes to a minimum,.....or not I didn't use the spinner and it sounds really smooth, now if these 20-30 mph winds would just taper down a bit

That is some serious watts what lipo are you using?

New Turnigy 2200 40C

I do not know how long you ran it but my guess is it would settle to about ~650 after say 15 seconds. The thing you have to watch for at these higher watts is runaway heat situation, meaning the heat is generated faster than it can dissipate. If you keep the WOT runs to 15 seconds or so then run at reduced throttle right afterwards to cool it off that will help it greatly. Basically fly it like we use to have to fly inrunners. After you land, it is amazing how much temps drop if you run at 1/4 throttle for 15-20 seconds.

It settled to just over 700 watts after about a 20 second run. With how small this thing is I don't think I'll be able to keep it full throttle more than 15 seconds without it being out of sight. I'll definetely take it easy.......most of the time.

These newer high C lipos really pump out the juice! The Evader is s great flying model, my only issue with it is the fuselage needs to be stronger in some areas as mine got chips in it from landing stresses.

got 3 flights in today, this plane is awsome. the wicked 4800 had this thing moving, most of the flights were at 2/3 throttle and just that was smoking fast. I wish I had a video camera so I could get it dopplered and see exactly how fast it's moving. I felt the motor after each flight and it wasn't too warm at all, of course it was 50deg outside. I like how this plane doesn't lose any energy when turning, climbing or anything for that matter.

whats the servos you are using Don? I am getting one soon and don't want to dump too much into it

Glad you maiden went OK! Yes it is a great flying model. How is your fuselage holding out?

fine so far, plane slowed down more than I was expecting for landing. the grass here is nice and brown so the plane kinda slides on landing. I expect come spring time when the grass is greaner and long it might "grab" it more.

got another 4 flights in today, this time with spectators since the weather was nice this weekend. Comments ranged from "oh my god that's fast!" to "how do you even see it?", LOL.
