It's the APC 15.5x12. You need a big engine though. I used an OS 200FS for that prop!

It's APC's 4b pattern prop (15.5x12). I've run it on electrics and it performs well.

Would an ASP FS91AR be okay in the P-51. I just ordered the Top Flite P-51 60 ARF from Tower Hobby. Only 200.00 with sale price plus discount code, and that was shipped.
Thanks...

While this thread has been inactive for a while... been some useful info in deciding on buying this plane (along with the Aeroworks) for an engine I had sitting needing a warbird home.

ton2di --- thanks for the video... your power choice confirmed mine.

YS 170 and Biela 17.27x8 prop.... there are several people running the Saito 180's with the APC 4 blade and they are working great... both are 33oz engines...

Toni is running an OS 200... here is the thread with a video. it is 35oz...

I will be the newest member of this club and will be electrifying it and I will be running a sound system that was off the last nitroplanes p-51 that didn't survive the maiden flight. The nitroplanes p-51 was a good value at $125 and actually flew great but I botched the takeoff after I had added the sound system and it would require me making a custom cowl which would take some time. After reading all the issues with the hangar 9 blue nose decided to get the top flight p-51.

I, like you, started out looking at the H9 Blue nose. After all the issues and consideration looked at the TF and the decision was clear. I am a fan of H9 but this case the TF was a better option for me. So far so good and it's impressive to this traditional kit builder who is very particular.

Yes,, the Biela from TBM. It is sweet. This one is the 17x8.. a little big for the DLE. The 15x9 would look great too and probably ideal for the DLE. I am getting about 7800 to 8000 on this prop static with it very rich. May go to the 16x8 for a little while until its run in a little more (One gallon on the bench at this point before install). Unloaded it is probably ideal as is though. Generally this engine takes about 30 flights before it sees full potential.
