Rule of Thumbs.....
I know of Motocalc and other programs that tell you what of motor to use and power requirements etc. There are a whole slew of different wings and sizes. One of the items that gets me
is what size esc to use? I run a FMA mini 20 in T-52 and Scooter Pro. Seems fine. T-52 weighs at 25.2 oz w/8 cell nimh bat pack in. I assume from all my flights that this would be just about max
weight for a speed 400 can motor w/ 6x4 grish prop. The T-52 flies fine with this but is certainly no speed demon and will not fly worth a **** when it is breezy. Building a home made job with
a wally mart wing at 38.5 inches. I have a Wattage 480 motor on order and also an ESC 30 amper (wattage) along with 6.5 x 6.5 props. If the weight of this "homey" plane is around 23 oz or so
w/8 cell nimh bat pack, and the new stuff I ordered (hobby people sale), will this damage the esc if the amps never get to
30?
