The Blade SR model was a little too easy to nose in, so I decided to practice on the 450.

Simon.... very nice! Nice slow smooth turns and your orientation is really improving with each of those nose in hovers you do. I've still only done a short hover with mine and then the weather went sour. Looks oK right now, so I'm charging my sunglasses cam. We'll either get a hover or a crash... either would be exciting. A charge rate of 10c sounds great until you look up how much a power adapter costs to provide the amperage.
10c for a 2200mah is 22 amps. If you were looking for a straight 300 watt ac adapter capable of doing that you'd wind up paying a small fortune. Easiest way to do it is to buy a pc power supply and modify it. You'll need a single rail 300w minimum power supply. Here's a thread detailing how to modify the power supply. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=446764 Here's a listing on newegg for 300 to 350 watt power supplies with a single 12v rail. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...e=&srchInDesc= |

I've got Phoenix turned up to its highest possible settings in order to look like that. I have vsync turned on, so my frames per second are limited to 60 in it. It never drops below that unless recording with fraps (which limits the fps to 29.97 while it records). I'll record some video of me flying in Phoenix later with floats and landing on a lake. The lake itself is rendered and has ripple effects. |
