June 2010 nano cannon

A bit off topic but thought I'd share. This is my latest creation, a minature black powder cannon that fires .177 BBs.

Thanks.... I know what my next project will be now.
I'm thinking some scrap wood and a 5/8" bolt bored out would do the trick too.

In all honesty that is way cool. Definitely something I'd put on my desk and point it toward the door. And I don't have many things on my desk.

I like these ones, www.Veteranarms.com/VALNov09/Cannons.html for those of us who don't own a lathe.
Chads, good luck with your project would like to see photos when completed.

Thrasher,
I decided to make a civil war 12lb howitzer. I just started on the wheels. 1.5" in diameter with wood spokes. I'm not sure if the barrel will be brass or steel. I will post a picture when I am done. I would like to use .22 cal pellets. Thanks for the link to give me inspiration!!!

Here is the progress I have made on the howitzer so far. The cheeks on the carriage still need to be machined and of course paint...

Chads,

That cannon is sick, one of the best handcrafted I have ever seen. I've moved on to customizing my new Crosman 2240 22cal Co2 pellet pistol. Do a web search on it, with your machining experience I am sure that it's something you can appreciate. However I will be using aftermarket custom parts that I can find online. Also trying to use American made parts only since the Crosman is made here in the USA.
