Lars (my roommate) and I each have a kit. He was talking about selling some stuff to fund another project. I'll see if he's interested, and if so I can bring his kit with me during Christmas vacation.

hee hee... we still have something like 7-8 months to go! I can easily get 4 planes done by then! But that plug & mold for the Piltus by itself could take up that entire time frame.

What size it that wingspan on the penetrator? Is it for high winds only?

It can be easily built at a low weight, but it sure doesn't mind being heavy in high winds. I've flown my 50oz Penetrator in 40mph winds and it just ate it up and asked for more.

Just pulled an all-nighter getting ready for playing hooky from work tomorrow in order to go fly. Stripped ailerons and sanded to proper thickness-taper (as kit was way off) recover and hinge and program radio.
Then there's the Spider. An aileron horn broke and a teeny carbide dremel bit to grind out the old fiberglass was a start. Then a circuit board cut to horn shape epoxied in. I'm a bit worried as it was more brittle than anticipated before cutting it. Screw it! I've already arranged day off and I'm Flying!!!
How it broke? Long story...nosedived straight doing stupid full bank and yank at minimal speed. Wringing it out on a maiden flight having just repaired a 2/3 severed fuselage, and 60 seconds in what do I do? Stall it and nosedive plumb straight in (no damage otherwise) and saw the wings do this bizarre vibration. Like a crosscut saw in a 2x4 being jerk just right and then pulled back through the cut and the blade buzzes back and forth...just like that. So broke the horn. Longer story...the rattle can paint is still soft. At least 6 days later it finally stopped being tacky.

Did I mention I'm flying tomorrow? WOOHOO!!!
