Lil',
keep your lipos at a "storage" charge when not in use. You do not want to keep them topped off as it could make them puff and it can and will damage the battery... Ask me how I know... Charge them up the night before you want to fly, and after the flying day, and being discharged, store them like that.

LiPo batteries can be dangerous. Sure, they're light and powerful, but they'll explode and burn violently if you:

Overcharge them, charge them too quickly, connect them backwards, short them out, immerse them in water, subject them to impact, puncture the outer casing. . .

And if I don't do any of the above?

If the batteries I have now are slightly discharged, when it comes time to use them, it won't hurt them to top off? Ok, now that I ask it that way, I guess the answer is kinda obvious.

I'll charge them up when I need them.

Dur......

Treat them and handle them like a lady and they work great, treat them like a red-headed step child and they will come back and bite ya...

I've had lipo's since the first Polyquest packs came out at Aircraft World.com
Treat them properly, and you'll have no problem.
