Sorry I have never built the Ace Of Diamonds or seen it fly. I said it is a fascinating looking model because that how it looks on the plan and in the article.

The construction article says because of the Warren-Young wing it is exceptionally stable and it’s a pusher as well. The first powered version went O.O.S. on it’s third flight.

Not sure how you would fit a D/T though

I think we are all attracted by the slightly odd and it would look great in the air.

Thanks, but the Envoy plan has now been posted, so my problem is now solved. Also, there seems to be a consensus on this forum that Derrick is a nice guy, and any plans that Derrick is selling should not be posted free online. Presumably as a show of support for his work in building up a large plans archive. But since my motivation is to give away all plans for free online through Outerzone, there is a bit of a conflict there. But thanks for the thought.

Essentially, I just wait for each plan to be posted by someone else, who didn't buy it from Derrick. One at a time. No rush.

I have made one, and it does indeed fly very well. The Warren-Young Wing was one of the many attempts at building an aircraft which could neither stall nor spin. It is indeed very stable, and mine never stalled that I noticed! The only problem is that it is a bit complicated, eg. the rear wing has a lot of wash-in.

Another request for help. I have got a nice scan sent in here of the plan and article : Golden Wings glider by Vic Smeed, from July 1955 Aeromodeller. But the scan of the page with the actual plan is too low resolution to scale up to full size. Text comes out unreadable. Can someone scan and submit that plan page at high res, maybe say 600dpi? Here's a pic of the low-res plan...

I am looking for plans for a Cleveland Albatross either the 6 or ten footer I built one in the early sixties and would love another -----I never got the chance to fly it.

Cleveland is still in business and is still selling plans. The 10-foot Super Albatross is listed. I don't see a 6 foot version but that doesn't mean they don't have it.
