There's a third, the Walt Musciano AirTrails 1954 plan is titled as 'C-47', but in a keyword search for DC-3 that one still shows up from the body description text.

I think that's a quote from here http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...&postcount=127 when Planeman posted the 70in Berkeley J-3 Cub, complete with floats. Nice plan. Works fine for me.

Destroyer and Delanne

Good morning all,

Continuing on with the May 1952 Aeromodeller I present a control line stunt model, Destroyer, and rubber powered scale model, Delanne.

The Destroyer is a semi scale control stunt model designed by Bill Geen. It is sized to be used with the popular 3.5cc motors of the time. The staff flew the model and are full of glowing praise about it handling, stating that it is capable of doing the full SMAE stunt schedule without any problems. There is also praise for some of the innovations on the model which include a removable wing and a dolly undercarriage. They do seem, however, to have a bee in their bonnets about the weight of the machine so was it really that heavy?

It was 4 years after the publication of the last rubber scale model that Aeromodeller published the Delanne from the pen of John McHard. As would be expected from John the design of this unusual tandem wing plane is exquisite and I hope my drawing does full credit to it. Of the original very is little known of the French plane, it is though that it never got beyond the prototype stage. Looking at it the plane though it has an appeal all of its own, bigger, radio and power certainly come to mind. However, if someone does build it, please post some pics.
From wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arsenal-Delanne_10

Enjoy the plans and, as with all my drawings, they are tracings from the scaled up scan. If you are going to build from them proceed with caution, measure well before cutting, and if you see any mistakes please let me know so I can adjust them.
Many thanks

Al

It's nasty outside due to Frankenstorm so I did a little scaning.

Greetings!

I just came across this thread and I am so pleased that I did!

I was doing a search for plans for the VOLKs Plane and this wonderful thread has lots and lots of plans!

I am sort of dizzy with the ARF stuff both Foam and Balsa, Lite Plywood that this home built projects are taking up my attention and interest!

I am heading out to the Kinkos-FEDEX store to see about up-sizing the VOLKs Plane Plans!

Thanks so much for this thread!

It looks like Mechanix Illustrated published a Delanne construction article in May of 39. I found that in the Google magazine archives. I wonder if you would get bonus 'biplane' points in rubber contests, since its a tandem wing design. I think that's why the Mauboussin M.40 Hémiptère is popular among rubber power enthusiasts.

Starcad,
Thanks for the complement. The original artical had the plans full size spread over 4 pages. The plans only showed one wing half. I combined all 4 pages and added the left wing half. The text was OCR'd so as to make a smaller file.

Hey all, I'm looking for plans of a free flight model called "Start" that are readable. the plane is a small cabin type model from 1954.

Volar Libremente shows a photo of the model and a very poor quality image of it.
