I think I really need this one, as it is purported to be "So simple, even the beginner can complete the model in a day." As an experienced builder, I suppose that means I should be able to crank out several of these per day...

I'm hoping someone has this plan, or can direct me to a source for it. Thanks in advance for any help with a copy of the Scientific "Oriole" plans.
That Ad really brings back a memory. I had ''The Flea when I was seven years old. Needless to say I never finished it. I had a passion for model airplanes but unfortunatly I had no help of any kind. I must have saved my megar allowance money for mounths to buy it. I wonder what ever happened to that kit. I expect my mother threw it away. Mothers do things like that. Thanks for the memory.

Curtiss-Wright Model 21

Here are PDF planviews and the accompanying background article for the Curtiss-Wright Model 21, drawn and written by Robert McLarren and published in the April 1939 Model Airplane News. This is the aircraft depicted on the cover of the April 1939 issue. Robert McLarren's article also contains instructions for making a solid scale model of the CW-21.

In addition to the magazine page-size drawing, I have included a planview scaled at one inch = one foot for fellow modelers who roll their own construction drawings, using the metric of the CW-21's 35.0 foot wingspan to scale up the magazine drawing.

The CW-21, also known as the Curtiss-Wright "Demon", is a unique and seldom modeled warbird that would be sure to evoke its fair share of "whatsdat?"s at the flying field.

Here are several links to addtional online information and contemporary articles on the CW-21 detailing its development and combat history:

Great stuff, Scaleviews. Some real treasures in those old MAN issues, and the Scientific advert is nice.

Spartan Aircraft

Greetings,
I was wondering if anyone had any plans for any of the planes made by Spartan Aircraft from '20s to the '40s. Any help would be great! Thank you!

Jasco Spotter Plan I had designed to be produced as a kit.
However due to other projects I could not get around to it.
Can post as PDF shortly, free for all to use.
Just give me a day or so to work out how to post, I am very new to rc groups.
The model is a superb flyer enlarged to 36"
Be aware that the cabin formers need to be reinforced since the fus is pulled in at
this point to nose section and the cab formers can crack under pressure.
Just be aware of this.

What type model plans are you looking for? A keyword search on "Spartan" at Outerzone turns up plans for 3 scale models, all rubber powered - a Spartan biplane, a Spartan cabin, and a Spartan Executive.

The Spartan Executive plan at Outerzone is for a 32" span model that was published in Air Trails. A real beauty that one - I also think it would convert to a very nice electric powered scale park flyer...

Anyone with an interest in freely available vintage plans who is not already familiar with Outerzone needs to be. Steve has done a truly first rate job with it, and in a remarkably short time. Outerzone is definitely my first stop when looking for a plan for a specific subject or model, or am just in the mood to browse plans - well over 3000 plans online at Outerzone now. Aeromodeller October 1948

I have acquired some old Aeromodellers. So here goes:

Aeromodeller October 1948

Cover celebrates the Jaguar, the first post-war winner of the Wakefield Cup competition, at Akron, Ohio

The published plans consist of:
Crackerjack - a 32 inch control line stunt model by Harry Hundleby and John Coasby, for 2.5 to 5 cc motors.

Saint - a 51 inch sailplane. Still available from the X-List. The plan has already uploaded at HipPocket, but here is the accompanying article

The Jaguar - by EW Evans - the 1948 Wakefield winner. The “Jaguar revisited” from the March 1991 Aeromodeller has already been uploaded by Aeromeddeler at http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...7&postnum=3403

and an Air Trails version at http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...65873&page=480

If anyone wants me to upload the original magazine plan, please let me know. Here is the original article. A few years ago Applehoney thought that Northampton Model Shop still sells a plan of the Jaguar (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...=377262&page=2)

Aircraft Described is the Miles M-14a Hawk Trainer III (otherwise known as the Miles Magister)

Although not specifically "plans" as such ... these official USMC Squadron histories contain many pictures and drawings that scale builders may find useful. They cover USMC aviation from 1912 to the present.

I'm not very computer literate ... many folks who post here have helped me with some material and I'd like to share what little I can. If I knew how to post them onto Hippocket ... I think they would fit there very well also. If somebody knew how to do that ... please feel free to share.

PLEASE NOTE: Be very careful. Most of these must be downloaded in TWO PARTS. SOME have as many as FOUR parts!
