Caudron racer rubber powered

A friend of mine let me borrow an old plan for me to clean up.
I spent all afternoon scanning and cleaning.

Then I found it was already on Outerzone.

Since it is not here, I'll post it anyway.

I have a (possibly stupid) question. I was looking at the nice photos over on the Morejohn-Irwin Oldtimer Collection at http://www.quietcow.com/Wanderer.htm like say this here Wanderer model, and I was wondering.. what are the wheels made of? All the other models on there seem to have these, too. They look like cardboard clamped between some kind of metal washers or something. What are they? I ask because I kind of like them, and they would certainly be low drag...

I think they are Plywood and possibly clothing snap hubs (clothing type) with tine nail rivets to attach the snap hubs. Pretty sure they are homemade.

Aha, thanks Fred. Excellent. That's me off for a slightly embarrassing shopping trip, then.

Its not scary going in there by yourself. I have gone twice by myself once for some foam padding for my racing seats in my drag car, and also I work nights and they sell a fabric that is used for window shades that blocks out all light so I got it and taped it over all my windows in my bedroom.

Yes it is but I didn't need much and that was when I was still living at home with the parents and no bills other than cell phone and put gas in the car, so just about every penny I made went into that car.

Modern Hobbycraft 109

From the forties, could even be during the war. Modern Hobbycraft 109.

This plan was in real bad condition, but I like the plane.
I redrew the plan and added the right wing and right spar half.

I also made a scaled up version to 50 inch to make RC.

I like seeing the plans pop up on other web sites, but it just doesn't seem right when people are selling plans that have been reworked and posted here, then downloaded and sold on E Bay.

Can I post builds and videos here of old time planes - like Jr. Falcon, Skylane 42 (both Goldberg)? Or, are they too new?

Unfortunately, it's just the nature of the game. There are those in this world that believe everything should be given to them and those that take from here to profit are just the mud suckers on the bottom.

Aj, it would be preferred that you start a new thread instead of posting builds and videos in this thread as this thread is for Pre 1960 Plans Only. BTW, as a word of caution, watch the dates on your plans as the CWP will be monitoring your posts.
