Since the card Cobra is just printed on paper and uses foam board you can scale the size of the parts very easily when you print it out. Since you have to modify the tail boom anyway I don't think that the scaling has to be particularly accurate.
Yes, you can scale these. I haven't done it, but if you want the most inexpensive solution and don't need the AH-1 to attack with live machine guns, grenade launchers, autocannon, and rockets... this would do

Noted this post on Helifreak that gives the plans for a battery tray. Keep scrolling down to post #812 through #818 to get the story and plans.

See: if you read RCGroups.com--you get a digest of all those "other" forums.

Hey, I just got my astroid-designs batt. mount today. How do you have your 1300 mounted to it? Are you using stock landing gear? I have Xtreme gear with my own mounts for it. The astroid mount angles up, not levell to frame, also very small for the 11300 batt. to be mounted to. Can you post a pic.? Thanks, WS

WS, click on "Instructions." Pretty sure this is for a stock set up. With your skid set up (i wish i had in my hand) you might be able to go with a regular velcro batt "credit card" mod.

Hey Mike, I dont think I have seen the credit card mod. What I did that worked very well is I cut a piece of milk jug just big enough to cover the four mounting bolts on my skids, used a leather punch and matched the holes and put a strip of velcro down the center. The milk jug piece is lightweight and very strong and sits about 1/8" below the main shaft. I would still like to see how his is setup. When I have more time I will take a pic. of mine and post it. Thanks WS PS. I installed the astroid mount as per instructions.

WS, yes the "credit card" velcro mod is very similar to what you do. That is very strange that the astroid mod won't go. I wonder if the holes are off or something. You need any measurements...that might help? Can you post a pic so we can see what it looks like?

Hey Guys, I just got done replacing my main shaft (CF) which is not my first one. For some reason I can't recall the up and down play that should be between the collar and bearing. Mine seems like a bit much. I would guess about .40mm. I wish these collars were more like Skytec (like their lower rotor too), then I would definitely fly the Xtreme shafts.

BTW, my shaft was split at the top and bottom. I knew this immediately when I grasped the gear and twisted the top rotor...holy crap Batman, lets do the twist I took a ride to Helidirect and scored the last CF shaft Friday

Mike.

I was looking at a spare shaft yesterday and noticed that it came with a micro split at the head. I applied thin CA and it filled the crack as well as filled the hollow end making it much stronger. I might have to sand it a bit to fit it right, but that's ok. I'm confident it's going to hold longer.

Dude, excellent idea! I'm gonna put mine in the micro vise, open up the split with a screw driver and apply some CA into the split with a toothpick. Release, and a quick wipe with a damp paper napkin.

Sax, you Da Man

New E-Flite Variable Rate Charger

Had to get a new Variable Rate Charger (like these). Only this must be an updated one...does not say Celectra on it, and uses either 6v or 12v DC.
Check it out!
