Thanks for the feedback. Good food for thought.

Sorry Bro, I was thinking of a different post where the fella mentioned he had a 20 year old son. Sheesh, I would lose my head if it wasn't attached!

Yup! But I have switched to my 120SR and Spitfire, with a camera mounted to them! Can cover alot more "range" than with a 4x4! LOL JK

In other words, which of those parts are you calling the "screen"?

... I've never had any luck buffing scratches out of plastic and tried all kinds of stuff including the kits for fixing up the lenses over car headlights... usually makes things worse (hazy).
On the front of the radio...under the plastic film that you can pull off.......

Yeah, like I said... be careful... any "scratch remover" type product I've ever tried on plastic covers like that (mp3 player screen cover, safety glasses etc.) just got worse after using the product... wouldn't want to see you mess it right up totally... sucks, I know, but sometime better to live with some scratches

... if you do decide to try something and it works, let me know... have been looking for a way to solve this for years... something that actually works.

I'd buy a replacement part, but cannot even find one.

Yeah, I don't know... you could call HH and see if they can help you... either directly or indirectly.

What happens is, even if you can get the scratches out, you've slightly changed the shape of the surface... the cover (or whatever you're trying trying to fix up) no longer has a perfectly even thickness throughout its entirety so it refracts light unevenly and just ends up looking weird when you peer through it... not hazy, so much (that can happen too), but just ... I dunno... kinda fed up.

I'm 100% sure that HH would be able to replace it for you. You would have to fork out the dough for the shipping there, but they'd replace it. Maybe you could see if they'd send the piece to you for you own repair, too.

One of my biggest reasons for wanting to go up to a DX8 is the backlit screen, I can't stand that my DX6i has NO light! Maybe I'll try the backlight mod.

I tried a candle, but the wind kept blowing it and the wax got all over my radio.

Would you like to upgrade your DX6i menu wheel/roller button?

I'll be doing all of this come April when my warranty runs out on my DX6i
