I'm really glad you brought this up!! Yes, heads up!

In addition to poor quality replacement CF blades, there are issues with poor quality CF tail drive shafts. I received two and both had one end messed up. I contacted the vendor and suggested they replace these. They tell me my replacements are on the way. They gave me an address to send the bad ones to. They claim they will take this up with the manufacturer.

The second set of blades I received from this vendor were in near perfect condition so I don't know what the magic combination is to getting good quality carbon fiber items.

Modded 4F200

I finally got the soldering iron out & Finished my 4F200. I put the Turnigy 2627-4200 with 17T Pinion, and the RCTimer Yellow 30A Programmable ESC in. With the RX2618V this thing is stable and GOES LIKE STINK!!! Thanks to AC for the "Heads UP" on the extra amps with the ESC, I noticed a HUGE difference in power!

Great looking mod! I too have replaced stock Rx w/RX2618V. Takes off much easier but still requires counter cyclic to hover - it won't just hang there in dead air like my CB180D.

If you don't mind I know it is a lot of trouble to do this, would you share your throttle and pitch curves and D/R & expo? Mine is set up as follows: T=0/25/50/50/50; P=53.5 (zero degrees pitch)/58/75/80/80; DR&EXP= elev&ale=70% & +10% rudd=100% LIN.

I am still tweaking and you probably notice fixed rotor RPM.

Thanks - Jack

I would be careful how wide you guys fly with this heli because from my testing the RX-2612V is only good for 30-40m.

Jack,

I will have to post my TC & PC later, as I left my helis at my camper in the mountains, but I'm still tweaking mine any way. I usually come in with agressive Throttle early to get the RHS up, then bring in a lot pitch after about 40%. I'm also using a stronger motor, 300w which has a LOT of torque. There is NO bog doing punch outs at all. As far as EXP. I haven't touched it, it's still linear across the board. Like I said, I'm still testing it and setting it up.
Besides, this bird will not fly anything like a FP heli. I still use my 180D & Z as trainers! So tell me, how do you like the 2618? Works a lot better, doesn't it?

Bravo, I ditched the 2612 in favor of the 2618, although I put it in one of my 1#A's to try a FBL setup. I will keep an eye on the distance. Thanks!

Yes, the 2618V works much better on my 4f200. When everything is tweaked just right, I can make it take off slow and straight up which was impossible with the 2612V. I think they designed the 2612 more for rapid maneuvers and get it off the ground quick take off.

I have noticed my V400D02 has a RX2614V. I sure wish there was a web page or forum post that explained all the variances between 24xx, 26xx, etc. There must be a hundred different Walkera receivers.

Now they have come out with another "upgrade" with the letter "D" on the end such as RX2618V-D I think. Maybe just RX2618D. At any rate, the "D" indicates this one is firmware upgradeable.

I've decided to dust off the 4F200; I have a new ESC and motor on order.
I will probably use the same 250 fuselage for it; mommy and daddy heli need a little baby:

Kitty testing the baby 4F200 for signs of life; but it's waiting for an ESC and motor transplant.

Hi guys, not new here by any means but kinda lost my username and pass so made a new one.

After reading some 42 pages of umpa-loompa complaints i said poop on it i'll just ask instead of reading more and getting agravated by crap remarks about this bird.

I have this bird and have zero problems, battery wise or servo wise or tail wag wise, its an excellent bird.

Main problem right now for me is parts (ordered from Xheli), i live in the caribbean so hong kong orders take forever!!!

has anyone identified a 3rd party or compatible main gear for this bird yet? Also i am using align blades, but Ebay you can get the stock blades it comes with 5 sets for 16 bucks (out of hong kong) so 15 blades for 16 bucks..

Anyways let me know...

@rafa where are you located? you look and sound like an island boy LOL.

Oh,

Here are my current heli's from left to right.

Esky E-smart 900
Exi 450 (i have like 3 of these actually, excellent bird and dirt cheap)
Walkera 4f200 (love it dont care what no one else says)
Colco Apatche (what i originally learn to fly on)
Mini chinese thing (for the boring hours in the house)

I have have had Trex 450se and 600, both sold (i dont go with Hype) not being
a hard 3D person (although i do do 3d a bit) i see absolutely no difference.. Like buying expensive Nike shoes just to say you have them.

In addition to this i have 2x Sapac T-45 Composite's, 2x Sapac F-16's (all doing over 135mph)

LOL. You must be talking about my cameraman on my very first 4F200 video, Kahlil. Yes, he's from VI as well. Happy flying,

Rafa

Nice pics!

Here are a couple of my own 4f200's, photo taken just today:

I will probably take them to the park tomorrow for some 200-sized fun. The one with the 2701rx is a dream, the other one just got a 2618 strapped on it, so we will see how that makes it handle.
