Here is my Hk 450 Pro belt edition with a Lightning heli 3 blade head. I am using the scale blades that RC Aerodyne offers.
Overall performance is good, and with the correct phasing, I do not need any electronic stabilization.
I run a lower head speed, and the tail keeps up nicely. My thought is to let the blades cone properly instead of being flung out with a crazy high head speed.

Current Setup:
Hk450 Pro Belt Drive
Hobbymate HB2840 3600Kv 13t
Mystery 40A ESC
MD922 Digital Servos .07 sec. Cyclic
Futaba 9257 Tail Servo
HK401b Gyro
RC Aerodyne Scale 450 Blades

Phasing:
with one blade over the tail boom, the follower is 90 degrees to it.

Flight:
Remembering that we are flying helicopters, I thought of a real one in which you have to trim the rotor disk to the proper angle for the type of flight you are in.
In forward flight you have to trim the stick back to neutral or else you will be way in the stick and that's when the dual rates start to loose effect.
Once you get it trimmed close for the winds you are in, the helicopter will fly nice for the whole flight.

If only someone made a EC120 fuse or a simple Schweizer 300 canopy... that would be perfect! (And a working fenestron)

Due to my hobbycity Corona DIY 2.4 module intermittently cutting out, upon landing the helicopter arced quite nicely into the ground. back to the flybared head to prepare for the 600!

You can get a Hughes 300 Fuse from Pro Heli... .

easy enough to set up, but requires a lot of tightening after each flight. Just routine maintenance. I also have a smartmodel 3 blade head, but with the weird swash i never got around to using it.

This is the one I fly. It's a USA designed, CNC macined and tested in Washington state right across the freeway from Boeing's main plant at Cliff's RCAerodyne headquarters and flying field test site.

The head referenced by planedude91 is a Lightning products head and has had a history of some problems. Mainly soft grade aluminum and poor quality fasteners. These heads are usable, but should be completely disassembled, cleaned and reassembled using thread locker and ball bearing lube.

This should not be required, but regular maintenance inspecting is a good habit to have. BTW I had the Lightning heli head so I have a baseline for comparison.

I would gladly swap out the LH head with a higher quality RCAerodyne head, but I didn't want to wreck a nice quality head during testing.

@Hoverup, does it make a difference if the static swash plate balls are not in line with the dynamic swash balls?
