Hey JT, I now have to believe you. I thought you had "Bats in your Belfry" but all along you had "buzzards in your eyes". You win.

Well I did take a picture the other night and here it is,

Tonight when I logged on I got a really WEIRD looking Cessna 172. Once I logged out and then back in all was fine. I tried flying around in a lot of planes and helicopters but I couldn't really find the one I was in the mood to fly. Had fun though with the full group.

Also I was going to ask, what is a "intersection takeoff"
The other night on a "pro" ATC group, I was asked to make an intersection take off which I had to decline because I had NO clue what that was.

I think the Diamond DA-40 is a good flying plane and has a lot of class, but there are a few quirks. The airspeed easily reaches 160kts......(no way). and the slip/skid ball is not correctly tied into rudder use. Other than those little quirks it was fun to fly, lands like a puppy (like the real mcCoy). I may buy that one I'll check out the IRIS one first.

Good flying tonight all round.

Good shots there HT, (Whacky) Cessna. An intersection take off is where a taxiway comes out onto a runway but not at the ends of the runway, (i.e. midfield taxiway) you can pull out onto the runway and take off from there without back taxiing to the runway end.

I see, Makes perfect sense.

That is a cool picture JT, I like how the cockpit is lit up.

JT,

That looks like the Diamond "Katana" if so it is the original two seat diamond trainer with a Rotax engine (converted snowmobile engine). They upgraded it a lot to make the Diamond "Eclipse" it has a Continental IO-240 engine (regular aircraft engine), which is much better.

This Abacus DA-40 that I was flying is only $19 to buy, I may do that as just having the Garmin 430s with full function would be nice to practice on, for the one in the real Diamond out at Keystone airport, I haven't flown the Diamond at KH in many years, I could use the GPS practice.

Tonight I'm still trying that Diamond DA-40 to see if it is worth the $19. Still Not sure. But good flight tonight anyway. Went from KH to Ormand Muni, then on to Craig. I let the DA-40 stay full power and did 160 kts......Not real at all should be about 140 at best, 133 would be more like it. It definantly needs a color change. (Yuck). JT in the Corsair and HT in the Extra made a good formation.
