This is what I've been working on in my airplane shop!
I am almost finished with my A/V cabinet. One more full length center shelf to make and install, then trim the whole thing with moulding that will
probably make myself.
Then stain it to match my living room furniture.
I splurged and built it out of quality oak plywood.
The projector goes on the upper center shelf that can be adjusted for elevation
according to it's focal distance from the screen.
The screen is a 100 inch diagonal screen or basically 6 by 8 feet.
The receiver amp is a new Sherwood 7.1 300 watt per channel surround sound system, or 7 channels.
Right now I have four tower speakers ( Sanui's in each corner of my living room)
Also have a center speaker up front in the middle of the room( can't be sen in picture because it is temporarily setting on the floor.
I will add two more speakers at mid room facing across the room.
Projector is a 3000 lumens LED projector, latest thing on the market!
This makes watching movies real good!
The projector has 3 HDMI inputs, a TV cable connection, a VCR connection and a c PC computer connection.
So basically if I rig up some sort of rig to mount a yoke and rudder pedals on or a joy stick on, I can fly FSX on the screen!
I will need a cable from my PC in the other room to the projector.
Imagine flying FSX on a 100 inch HD screen!
Okay here's something cool!
I could have spent a small fortune on a new big screen Tv.
This setup, projector, and screen delivered to my front door for under $800
I am serious!
Actual retail on the projector is about $1800
I actually bought it just above wholesale.
I added a new Sherwood 7.1 surround sound rec/amp that cost a few bucks!
Also bought a nice Panasonic bluray DVD player

I also went to "system restore", only to discover my rig has been operating in "safe mode" and not creating "restore points"!!!!

Hi XRay and Skorski !
Yes it is! A Lanier Laser 200
Hangar 9 Taylorcraft, early version of it.
It set in a local hobby shop for a long time
At the time the LHS was in financial problems. The owners wife wanted
to raise some ready cash, so she made me a nice offer.
Since my hubby is gone for the day, I'll sell it to you for $20 over our costs..
He'd never miss it since he is the "absent minded professor type."
It was actually under a stack of other kits, and he probably forgot he had it.
He's the kind of guy who won't sell something unless he absolutely gets at
least a 40% markup , regardless of how old the item is!
He has even asked me several times if I would like to buy the shop from him.
We keep telling him he needs to have parking lot sale under a tent and get rid of all
the old stuff and sell it for what he can get or is offered.
This way he could raise capital for new stock. he just keeps saying , that idea is stupid!
He has stock still on his shop shelves from 40 years ago
I'm not really into ARFs , but this was just one of those deals that was too good to pass up!
Most likely I could not have scratch built it as cheap as I got it!
Plus it was already built
I've seen several videos of these things and it seems to fly very well.
Watched one where the guy converted it to electric!
I also have 1/3 scale Lanier Laser hanging up in the rafters , still under construction!
I won it a giant scale raffle of a local club!
Cost me all of $5 for a ticket!
I have Bennett Built G62 for it.
The Laser will most likely be powered by a Bennett G26
Probably the Taylorcraft also
If you guys are ever interested in big engines, check this company out.
I knew the owner well before he passed away.
A friend of his took it over www.bennettbuilt.com
You cant buy better big bangers engines , plus they back up what they sell and also offer full machining services
They make almost all of their own accessories
IkonNwst has a new owner, and he is looking into releasing a line of giant scale kits, all laser cut.
Hee hee hee!
You should see my stack of "retirement stash" kits!
Some bought at auctions, some from Ebay.
Hey Skorski, yes you can be my neighbor!
I'd like to see the guy next door leave!
What you see in this picture is "half" of my workshop !
There is another room beside this that houses two work benches and a lot of shelving, my furnace, water heater, water softener, etc.
Yesterday I put a book on CD in my stereo in the shop and spent the better part of the day down stairs
