![]() This is what I worked on when I was in the military, I worked mostly on the guidance systems and radar systems I think this film was shot in South Korea at the Nike test site THe thing you see headed downward trailing white smoke is a burned out booster, after separation from the second stage The booster lifted the missile to 5,000 feet in 4.6 seconds, then burned out and fell back. To give you an idea, these missiles were 46 feet long, weighed just over 10,000 lbs and reached speeds of Mach 5 and could reach altitudes of 150,000 feet then fly back down and follow its target anywhere.
