Hmmmmm,
I've been pondering our server dilemna, there is a selection for "LAN" in multiplayer. Is there a way for computers in different states to become part of a LAN?
(Just had a few braincells bump into that one.)

Talked again with my bud from MS, He thinks that this new outfit Gul or whatever that bought out Gamespy is using software that's incompatible with what I am running.
I have Windows 7 Professional

He tried himself setting up an account and it will not accept Win 7 Pro.
Win 7 will work, but the Pro version is different.

However FSX works exceptionally well on Win 7 Pro

Talked with my cousin who uses FSX online and since August 6 when this other outfit took over, him and his buddies have had nothing but problems.
Keep getting booted off, have problems logging in, etc.
Not a good situation.

Had to look, I'm on Win 7 home premium.(FSX works great on it also)
Sent a PM to Jim T. Graham, asking for some brainpower toward this problem.
We'll see what happens.....
Till then we do the best we can with what we have & hope the right set of ears hears our problem.
(RCG's own virtual flying site?)

It kinda bums me out, because I'm disabled & can no longer get outside & fly, or get in the shop & build, like I once did. And FSX has become my outlet. Flying by myself just won't get it!

Ed, I also run Windows 7 Home Premium and I have an old Gamespy account I have been using for several years and it still works and seems to work fine 99% of the time. If an older version of Windows will let you create an account on Gamespy, go to someone with an older computer running XP or Vista and log on to the Gamespy site and create and account name and password and then go to your computer and just try to open it and use it like we do. It may work out.

Opened up a flight session at KOAK Oakland, with the HMS Victorious cruising the bay at 16 knots towards the Bay Bridge. I spawned the Cygnet II on the deck of the Victorious, took off and shot some touch and goes, and then did a couple loops around the Bay and Golden Gate bridges ..



















A lot of fun in the British Ercoupe this early morning, surprised a few early morning commuters on both bridges.

Already tried that, doesn't work!

Received an email from MS and they said due to Gamespy being bought out, this new outfit Gul has a lot of problems, using inadequate server machines,
and they are setup for "mobile apps" only.
Their hardware and software will not work in many situations with PCs

MS is now getting thousands of complaints and queries as to MS online games with FSX being the highest number of complaints
MS told me they have no intentions of resolving the problem
Basically if you are a new comer to FSX, you will be unable to get online if using a PC, but if you use a mobile phone, Ipod, etc, you'll have no problems

I am looking at a couple other forums where this same problem I have is being discussed.I am not alone, thousands have been kicked off FSX online

I wish I could remember my old user name and password to see if it worked. If I can find it I will let you use it for signing on and flying together. I'll look through my old computer files and see if it is still there.

Recently we've found that Microsoft has pulled support of their sims, which means we soon won't have a place to meet & fly online.
I bring this to your attention thinking possibly you could bring this to the attention of RCG's vendors, possibly the more folks in the RCG family that know of the situation the better a chance for a fix!
Personally, If I could afford it I would set something up for members of RCG only to fly in. (A virtual RCG flying site?)
