JT here is a blast from the past.

Hi Roger!

hey buddy , yiou're an EAA member and know a lot of guys in your area who also are.
I am trying to spread the word about a group of EAA'rs who are trying to establish a fair and democratic process within EAA so the EAA members can vote for the board of directors.
It is not that way now

They have formed a group on Facebook and also on Yahoo Groups

It's known as Members4Members on facebook and the same on Yahoo groups

The goal is to establish an election of EAA leadeership insted of the "good old boys club" setup it is now where the board chooses the president/ceo and he chooses the board members and the EAA membership world wide has no voice in these appointments

There are a lot of "BIG" names on Members4Members on Facebook ( Rod Machado,Kyle Franklin, Jim Koepnick, Steve Buss, etc.)
There is a behind the scenes movement to briong aboard Sean Tucker ( who got screwed over by Hightower this year, also Patty Wagstaff, Julie clark, Bob Hoover, Harrison Ford who did not resign from Young Eagles but was "booted" out by an over zealous board member in favor of Jeff Skiles
Oshkosh this year had MANY PROBLEMS and members are very dissatisfied with management.
I could go on and on about the shenanigans Hightower and his group of cronies have pulled, but the membership has had enough of him!

There is a former NASA person who may be asked to run for President
He isn't an astronaut, but someone very well known!

Go take a look at Members4Members on FB

Spread the word in your area wil you please?

Thanks!

Ed

Thanks!
Ed

Ed,

My chapter 1379 also had us give proxy ballots to our local EAA Pres. to take to Oshkosh this year to try and demand the same thing, so it is EAA wide. I hate the Good Ole Boy systems when they start excluding the membership for their own glory. That is what happened to Sun n Fun. It used to be an EAA fly In and then it got too much money and some people came in and made it , it's own event and called it Sun n Fun ,org and now it just ticks everyone off and it is half the event it used to be. So I am behind you on this. I'll log on and join.

Thanks

Hi Roger!
Thx!
Try and get the rest of your chapter to sign up!
I feel if wecan grow this movement, EAA will have to recognize us!
It's still a "good old boys club at Oshkosh too!

The night airshow wasn't half of what it was last year and the fireworks sucked compared to last year!

It's funny (not the ha-ha variety)
Oak Ridge has a "good old boy" faction thats long been killing any growth possibilities for this town.
I was born & raised here, watchin it fall.

Open and put SF8_F-86EF_Sabre in airplanes.
Mike,
This is a very good F-86. You actually have to fly it.

Mike, I saw 4 of theose Navy T-45 Goshawk's leaving Cecil Airport in Jacksonvillelast week. I think those students thought they were Blue Angles, they were fighting to get into formation. Cool to watch.

Yeah,
as I've found on fsx it's pretty difficult to form up even on a straight flying AI airplane!
I went to Boot in Jacksonville, april '71'!
Blistered the tops of both ears!
